The demo is finally out. Graphics have improved and gameplay is more smooth and fluidlike. The necromorphs will drop after a few shots only to get up again when you get close. Blood and sfx are more gory too.

New video preview by gamespot.com. I won't watch it seeing as the game comes out in 10 days but I thought I'd post it up anyway for everyone else who's interested...

Yeah came out today. Mine arrived yesterday... thanks ebgames :)

Basically the same as the 1st game just the usual changes - tweaked graphics, new bad guys and weapons. that being said, gameplay feels different (not so much claustrophobic as before) and multiplayer is really cool. The story is also a lot more indepth compared to the first one.

I'm hoping lot's of people play multiplayer. It's more fun than I thought it would have been.

If anyone else gets the game let me know. The more the merrier.

One team is monsters, the other is humans.

The humans need to complete an objective and the monsters need to stop them. You then switch sides after each round.

The human side can only die once but require more hits to kill. Monsters get killed easily but can respawn by choosing a respawn point within the map. The objectives vary as well. The game requires a lot of teamwork.

As you progress and gain higher levels/rank, you can upgrade your guns and such (if you're human) or upgrade your killing abilities and skills (if you're necromorph).

I think there may be some youtube videos showing off the multiplayer if you wanna check it out before you spend the $$$ buying the game.

Finally finished the game. All I have to say is the ending is MUCH better than the first one.

Probably one of the better aspects of the game is that cut-scenes don't take up much time at all... You spend more time playing than watching while still getting a good idea of the story. There were a few times when I didn't even realise the cut-scenes were interactive I ended up dying.........

Unlike the first game, Dead Space 2 has 15 chapters, instead of 12.

Now to finish it on Hardcore - each time you die, you restart back at your last save, AND you only get three saves total.

can barely move in the game, stuttering like mad, horrible fps.

i7 cpu, raid hdd's, & dual hd5770 crossfire cards, still cant run the game properly.

So are you staying the games graphics are too awesome or are you just saying your computers too shit :P

New DLC for Dead Space 2.

Unlike the COD games, where you pay $15-$20 for a few maps, this DLC is under $10 and features new campaign, new characters, new voice acting and so on.

And, according to gamespot, it's actually well worth getting it.

I found it a lot easier than the first game.

My main method of attack is wait for the necros to get close, then blow them apart with the force gun. Use the pulse rifle to take care of the pack (kids with claws).

The dlc is pretty good too.

I am up to chapter 13 now. Finding it abit difficult now. Swarms of non-stop necromorphs.

Call me oldschool but my favourite weapon is the Plasma cutter. I find it cuts their limbs off easiest.

Dead space 1 - plasma cutter all the way. Using only this gun i had clocked it on impossible mode.

Dead space 2 - went zealot mode as soon as i bought the game - using the two guns mentioned above. A tip would be to keep the force gun equipped. This way if anything jumps in front of you, blast it away to give yourself time to quickly assess the situation and switch to your preferred weapon. also works well clearing the area against multiple enemies. Remember to wait for them to get really close. Generally one shot will blow them apart.

Hardcore mode is next. I need to find the time. Also I'll end up smashing everything if I died and had to restart three chapters back.

    • Yeah, I don't believe the M35 uses a deadhead system.
    • Have you done your thinking backwards? 3 bar, 43.5 psi pressure drop being the presumed specification for an injector, means you need 3 bar upstream when they are firing into atmospheric pressure, and more upstream pressure than that when on boost (you add your boost to your rail pressure to maintain 3 bar across the injector) and you need..... less pressure upstream when you have vacuum in the manifold. So, presuming that you're idling at -10 psi, then you only need ~23 psi in the rail. I realise that I did not need to say all of that to you specifically Matt, once you'd realised your mistake. It's mostly there for complete clarity for others.
    • Have you reached out to the guys at Spool Imports? They are a Ross dealer, I can imagine they would have the rings just sitting on the shelf (I could be wrong).
    • There's one for sale at Grand Auto Wreckers in Lonsdale (SA), for .... let's suggest the sum they're asking for will make you cry. You may have to embrace the idea of modifying the rear subframe to accept some other diff. You could probably find a way to wangle a shortnose into there, with a custom rear adapter and some sort of shenanigans to relocate the front mounts. This has probably already been done by others, so there might be some guidance available as to how easy/impossible it is, out there in the googles. But you possibly needn't restrict yourself to Nissan diffs if you're going to contemplate that. There are similarish Toyota diffs, possibly some Euro ones, possibly some Seppo ones.
    • The ball joint taper and arm taper have to match angle and diameter, but just doing the bushes is a much better option.....seems like the industry moved to "it is cheaper to replace the whole arm than take on the labour for changing this bushes", glad the aftermarket supports it
