Attached is our Chev Truck, it has been well looked after and is maintained regardless of cost.It was bought to tow our race car around the country but after only a few rounds the GFC hit and the series was cancelled.

In anticipation of travelling all over the country we replaced anything we thought may cause us dramas whilst on the road so it has new steering linkages, rear drums, wheel bearings, linings, alternator, CVR hi-torque starter and new headlights with HID globes and ballasts (awesome light).

It has a Alpine CD player with decent alpine speakers and is plenty loud enough without having to modify the truck to much to fit it.

The Truck has a 454 and T400 both were rebuilt by the previous owner and have been faultless, i fitted a dominator tow converter to improve towing large loads off the line and to increase capacity and it tows our race trailer with ease. It has a high capacity tow pack and a ute liner so can be used without fear of damaging the tray.

It is straight gas and has 200litres on hand and gets great mileage for interstate trips. (tanks have just been certified)

It has power steering and power brakes so can be driven by just about anyone. A/C has a leaky hose (hp off compressor) and is all that is required to get it up and running, i was qouted $150 including hose and hi-chill gas.

The interior is actually one of the best parts of this truck, usually these trucks have a terrible dash (much like hq to hz holdens) but this truck has had a full right hand drive conversion done using a late model electronic dash (see pictures).

It will need a few things for road worthy namely tyres and a windscreeen. There is a bit of rust in each back door and a little bit on the firewall, it is nothing to worry about and was there when we bought the car, it has been treated and was going to be fixed when the truck was to be painted in team colours which never happened due to the race series cancellation.

(INCLUDES A FULL COLOR CODED FIBREGLASS CANOPY)

We are happy for test drives and inspections so please get in contact.

$15,000ono

interesting. a chev with a ford xf dash and fairmont guages.

nice touch

yup and all the heater and a/c gear out of a XG so its all late model, cheap and easy to work on, replace and far better looking than the original chev and GM gear. the GM a/c compressor was about 45kilos :)

Hello,

I've just come across this and that dash looks fantastic. I've got a F100 and i've been thinking about doing something very similar for ages.

Did you do the conversion yourself? and is there any chance you have more pictures?

I have about a squillion questions lol

Nice work

Ben

    • Yeah, Duncan is helping sell me back to Android devices. I've hated the whole Android head units due to their speed issues. Even in my old Hyundai Kona (2022 model), it behind the scenes was Android, and slow and shitty to start up. Once running wasn't bad, but still a good 15 to 30 seconds.
    • My roof rails are off atm on the E39 until the rust is fixed. I did find another little bit of surface rust under the rails when I took them off. As @soviet_merlin said I'd just leave them alone unless you're planning on ensuring they're properly sealed. I was on the fence about leaving them off as the delete is still a thing in BMW E39's but I feel like the car is missing something (er, it is, der) with them off and I'm looking forward to putting them back on.
    • Man, I miss having a phone that fits into my hand!
    • The speed this thing starts up is making me want to replace my old one. Though my old one immediately kicks into reverse camera as soon as reverse is engaged, it's clearly not part of the android system. For everything else though, starting up, connecting to hotspot, opening maps, starting music in spotify is easily a ~2 minute affair.
    • Yeah well per the video it took 15s for the stock unit to start up....even if I give it a few seconds discount for starting that is at least 12 sec before you get a reverse camera if you are trying to leave a park.  The android unit is way faster, but 2016 for the stock unit is a long time ago in consumer electronics
