you can have it in the boot so long as it is completely sealed and drains to the outside, can be costly, i got one made to a design I made, it has a 2.5ltr surge tank and two 044's, has three 30mm id alloy pipes the go through the boot that act as the drains and the hoses go through them

Doesnt appear to have the capacity above the pump Steve-O's does

curious coincidence the sellers name is Brad????

The current ones I'm using on my GTRs have individual chambers supplying the pumps and are foam filled to settle the fuel a bit more.

I rather use them with dash fittings as opposed to barb tails and clamps.

They work well and are realativly inexpensive.

Any more info available on these like the sound of the foam too, pm if ya prefer

Does it mount in roughly the same position??

Flow was a concern as Brad and Greg figured out the tank had to be over 4L for the pumps I'm using.

Safe too assume 2 x 44's or bigger?? Or was the lift pump more the issue??

Was planning on using my Nismo in tank as a lift then probly two 44's

Speak to EFI performance. Pierburg external fuel pump. No need for surge tank.

i am looking into this setup myself & will confirm tomorrow if this pump can run on its own - surely this is the way they run it in their high spec mercedes cars?

Usually around $900-990 with pump. Often you can pick up one from the XR6 Turbo Forum Classifieds a lot cheaper....

i spoke to these guys this morning & they dont make surge tanks for the gtr

Yes I know what a surge tank is for. I understand what you are saying but I have been assured you wont need one with this setup.

Here is a 'quote' from an email from Rick at EFI

"We recommend you look into an extra external pump we use and recommend (pier berg) high volume fuel pumps which are a draw and push pump capable of 350L per minute @ 3bar where the bosch 044 external is only a push pump and with its expensive fittings ect they are rated at only 200L per min @ 5bar."

"We have used these pumps on over 40cars now and are really taking off, they can be used with C16, methanol and are also E85 user friendly where the bosch pumps are not."

Like i said, I reccommend speaking to the EFI guys. They are really helpful and great to deal with.

hey adam - i spoke to rick @ efi performance in qld. he said i could remove my surge tank & replace my lift pump with the pierburg pump on its own (either run it in-tank for a factory appearance OR under the car with a simple bracket) & this will support 500awkw no problem. also is alcohol & ethanol friendly

he explained that the 044 is rated for 200lph @ 5bar & the pireburg is rated for 360lph @ 3bar, most pumps loss efficiency with higher pressure however the pierburg remains flat & says easily maintains over 300lph @ bar.

they use these in mercedes sports cars & the bugatti veyron actually runs 4 of these pumps (1 for each bank) in the tank as they are submersible.

    • What 1.5 way? There's no such thing really as a 1.5 way, just different ways of explaining 2 ways with different ramp rates. HOWEVER. In any driving in a straight line your 1.5 or 2 or 1.7 way should have no clunking at all. With the clutch fully depressed the diff should be silent (unless it's welded but I'm assuming it's not). Something aint right here.
    • Clutch is a spec brand, new clutch system,( PP, flywheel, friction disc, etc. pull type) installed 100 miles ago, with no problems.
    • looking for some help and maybe some insight on others experience with a new LSD. R34 GT ran and drove beautifully, but always alot of grip loss due to the open R200 rear end, so I just installed a new 1.5 LSD way into the stock open R200 for a ER34. Simple. Everything seemed right. I test drove for the first time this weekend. as I started to back out the garage the first time slowly with tires straight it sounded and felt like I had a loose or half disconnected drive shaft...that was clucking around loose and shaking entire vehicle, and making it feel like the trans clutch was spontaneously slipping then grabbing very roughly while just letting out pedal slowly. I backed it out went to pull forward with the same noise, shake and slip grab feeling with hesitation, I turned the tires to back out more and then pulled ahead some same thing but worst because of added wheel resistance (which that I expected) puzzled … pulling it back in checking everything over and finding nothing wrong, I tried it the next day. same thing, couldn’t believe how it shook everything again making a terrible noise and making it feel like the trans clutch was slipping and grabbing, but I got it out of garage into the driveway, got it straight, drove forward and then reveres a few times in a straight line everything shaking , causing what felt like clutch slip and grab every time, sounded like right behind front driver tire and I could feel it in the floor board with my feet,... worst right when beginning to let clutch pedal out to engage slightly, shuttering and sounding terrible along the way…I managed to slowly get down the road, babying it the whole way, once I was rolling (out of 1st) seemed to be better and between shifts, then clutch felt closer to normal…not slip/ grab etc., but back down to any stop, straight road or turning, same thing. Made no difference if all tires were straight or if I was turning. All other gauge read out correct. with in 2 miles as planned I reached the empty parking lot and performed the break in procedure that came with lsd, essentially to drive in a figure 8 a bunch.  Did this, binding chattering, and shaking the car the whole way. I drove it back home seemed somewhat normal once I was in straight line and past 10 mph or so, and I know it will “bind” on corners and cause some tires squeal when turning especially from a stop, but when I begin to move it still causes what feels like the trans clutch to slip and jerk badly as well as shaking the entire car, and sounds terrible, that I didn’t expect. I used the fluid they supplied with LSD kit and did the breaking, planning to change fluid as they suggest after breaking, but wondering will it get smoother or less aggressive with use? maybe a 1.5 is just too aggressive for normal road driving?   I have a LSD that I put in my 71 cuda when I restored it, with amazing smooth , quite yet effective results. Different style LSD but that ones a joy to drive. maybe expecting too much from this R200?
