I heard they were planning to return to Oz in 2013,

due to the popularity of V's that are being imported as well as the fact that Lexus has dominated the market for too long and other companies such as Eunos died miserably in the arse!

I kinda hope they don't.

Aren't imports generally cheaper than australian delivered cars?

If Infiniti comes to Australia, doesn't it mean that we'll have to pay more for our skylines? NOoooooo.... I'm poor

Exactly!! If you look at it logically, the V is spec'd same as a 350Z but with two extra seats, so that means $70k+ back in 03 when the v was launched.

Good news for current V owners as this means our cars wont depreciate that quickly.

If history is anything to go by, it'll be the exact opposite. Aus delivered cars will depreciate like the rest of the market, where as the a$$ will fall out of imports. Have a look at private import cars. People bring thier beemers over from the UK when they move here and depending on the model, I've seen them sell for anything up to 10-15 thousand less than Aus delivered BMW's.

Another example is the Aus GTR, the few that came from Japan are generally selling for at least $10k less.

Hmm.. yes you have a point there. I agree if we take a late model V36 for example. If someone bought his V36 a year prior to Nissan bringing in Infiniti, then yes the value of the imported V36 will drop when Infiniti comes to Australia because an Australian delivered model is available. But the arrival of Infiniti will make previous Vs more desirable (hopefully) like the V35. People will start taking notice of Infiniti and the V range (again hopefully)... so I think this will somehow make the V35s hold its value a bit better.

    • Unsolicited advice? Keep the engine as close to stock as you can. Nothing wrong with adding some boost and making a little more power, but given where you are, you really don't want to try to make it into a monster. I can't imagine the roads are up to it, and the lack of locla support when it grenades will be a ball ache. FWIW, If there is a dyno around that you can access, then brand new injectors are a good idea, which will lead you to (at least) putting a Nistune in it, which will allow you to put an R35 AFM on it, all of which will make it possible to make it much much nicer to drive and live with.
    • List all of your mods. It sounds like an aftermarket ECU hitting rev limiter. Like a valet mode, or a cold rpm limiter?
    • @Kapr Haha yeah thats the one. I missed that you had a built up engine, I wouldn't want to run it on there either then. It was good in my situation just to replace the original turbo on a stock engine. @MBS206Yep definitely not a replacement for anything name brand
    • You are selling this? I have never bought something from marketplace...i dont know if i trust that enough. And the price is little bit "too" good...
