Hi All,

I am looking for someone to join our 6 Hour team for the August event. It involves 2 days at Phillip Island doing lots of laps for very relatively small outlay. Car only needs to comply with similar regs for sprints and can be run on a basic CAMS license.

Would love to have another SAU member there to enjoy the fun. Just PM or phone me if you are interested.

Chris.

ill be down in a white or a black r32 gtr

see you there say hello

im the fat f**ker in the funny hat

Hi, Just emailed Chris with my intention to join his team with my S15. Read the sub Reg that the minimum lap time ( 1:55) the quickest you are caped, going under that, you will cop penalty and even disqualified.look forward seeing you there.

Bump!

Only 1 spot left. Someone must want to stretch the legs of a GTT. No need to thrash it but heaps of laps to be had as fast as you feel comfortable with.

Go on, you know you want to :P

Will call you tomorrow,or call me on 0433878905. I have got my mate interested to join with his GTR33

Just to give anyone thinking about it a bit of a stir along. I am in the same team as Fatz, if anyone wants to get into the event this year your ONLY way in is with a team that needs another driver. Our entry was in on the Thursday of the week entries opened and we are team 47 our of 50! There are no team entries left and a reserve list of teams as well.

Most reasonably quick cars were doing somewhere between 2:00 and 2:15 last year, with up to 50 cars out there at once your times get knocked around a fair bit, plus it will almost cretainly rain, it is the Island after all!

Sorry to say that our team has a full compliment of drivers although I am happy to have a reserve name in case of emergency.

I agree with Blue. We are team 48! Which means we must have had our entry in 18 seconds after theirs :-)

Seeing Chris in your first post and looking at the entry list I should say who I am (Not putting full names up online of course) It is Paul with the yellow R31 Coupe, Cookie and I will see you at the island! Unless of course you are not the Chris I am thinking of! No matter seeing we will be in adjoining garages, we will see you anyway!

I reckon entries will need to be in with the promoters by the Wednesday in the openeing week next year to avoid missing out!

I had already guessed it was you or Cookie. Is the yellow peril going to survive this year? :-)

It should!

The problem last year was caused by a port that I had welded up in the plenum, the welder did not do a good enough job of it and a blob of alloy broke free on the back of the weld and went into #4. A head gasket and both manifold gaskets to pull the head off to retrieve it and it was back up and running a week later! I had initially thought it had broken a valve spring as it rattled and dropped a cylinder. A shard of alloy was keeping an exhaust valve open and the main bit was squashed flat between the head and piston.

Here is hoping for a trouble free run this year.

    • Ok I get you. But isn’t the butterfly intake a headache with the +T?  see this is my plan so far but please advise me into the right direction.  Nistune Ecu, 1000cc Bosch injectors, TD05 or TD06 Kinugawa turbo using stock rb25det exhuast manifold, walbro fuel pump unsure of model I think it’s 450/460, spitfire coils and sparks to suit and a R35 MAF sensor and boost sensor.    I was thinking maybe do a cheap eBay plenum $400-500 or try find a stock det neo intake. I think I’d port match it so it’s getting the full capacity but open to advice please.  Thanks
    • The issue now is the 'fuel cut' while driving, and when it happend, it does not stall. This, I did not test the fuel pressure while driving as I cannot with a fuel pressure gauge. I do have Nistune logs, yes. I have also replaced the MAF Sensor.   Also related to the FPG Fuel Hanger – I just realized that I need a Deutsch Crimp Tool to crimp some cables for the FPG Fuel Hanger. Need to purchase additional cables as the kit only included 2, which are for the float. FPG has not responded to my emails so far since purchasing. I thought about taking it to someone and having it done professionally, but I am reluctant since everyone I took it to messed up in some way.
    • There's a good German place in Brisbane if youre up for the drive 😛
    • The German place in Cabramatta was rock solid, fresh pretzel cooked to order back then. Then it went all quiet, after all the poker machines were removed, then I believe it closed for good. I did drive past the other week and noticed outdoor lighting a big screen, but no idea what is there now.
    • Yeah I suspect even if you hold airmass per cycle/cylinder constant if you get too far away from stock you're still going to have problems running the factory tune within the bounds of the factory load scale. Cams, different displacement/rod ratio, etc. I'm just lucky that the GTIII-SS with wastegate boost + CA compliance cats is pretty much equivalent to stock turbos. When I have actual space I can finally get it tuned and modify the fuel system for flex fuel to 100% handle any detonation concerns when cranking the boost to whatever those dinky turbos can put out.
