people will be running all sorts of ecus. most people will have pfc's but more and more people are going to nistune. there'd be a few microtech's, etc as well. doesn't really matter whether the car is a series 1 or a series 2.

as for the tune, they will all be different as they really need to be done specifically for each different car to be any good.

I'm running PFC and couldn't be happier, but it really just comes down to the tuner. Ask a local trusted workshop what they recommend and they will steer you towards what they are best at tuning, and what they have seen the best results with. A tuner with complete knowledge of Link ECU's will not tell you to get a PFC, one who's tuned hundreds of Microtechs will not want to "try their hand" at Nistune. A good tune is a good tune, regardless of which product they use to achieve it.

i had this problem. Bought a bog stock R33 series 1 which was flat as above 3500rpm. And i mean really flat. (it did have a cat back exhaust but wateva)

Put on turbo back exhaust, FMIC, pod, new plugs n splitfires. Still EXACTLY the same power.

I was getting worried that there might have been injector trouble or something cos it sucked so hard. I think my stock R33 N/A would have been going harder, honestly.

Got an ecu tune by toshi (is on the forums here). Pulls like a f*kn freight train now right thru to redline. and i mean real hard making the most of 12psi with a AFR of 12.

It was all just that shitty standard ecu. From my homework it seems that series 1's suffer alot more from this.

Im also preferable to tuning/chipping the standard ecu as you arent putting in a stand-alone ecu with all the installation and tuning associated.

This way it also looks completely bog standard as the chip goes in the existing ecu box. Cops and/or insurance companies cant tell youve had a tune done.

    • thanks for the advice on the box... i was thinking the 6 speed was better for cruising on the highway but on closer inspection and comparison the Rb 5 speed box was not too different...  So the choice is going to be the RB25 box... if I can save up and find one at the right price
    • Thanks Matt, yes that's what i am aiming for. Just going to apply the right voltage and grounds to the dash connector. Hence my search for these pins... any chance you know if these pins are in the same spot as the ones on the S15 Dash connector? as mentioned above on page 8?
    • Yes, unfortunately that's the one. Signal was noisy to begin with; after driving once and looking back at the logs I saw pressure constantly swinging between 0-200psi, or staying at 0 randomly for a few seconds. There's a lot of good sensors that share the same look and feel, so don't presume they're all bad. I bought mine for 20$ off Amazon and I should have read the reviews prior, as it's clear they're junk.  I purchased a lowdollerr motorsports sensor.
