For the more experienced photoshoppers I have a huge job that I need done. I need images of my commodore as it will look for Superlap, design sketches if you will, to present my sponsors with. The problem is, the car does not look anything like what the finished product will. Basics? I need a colour change, wide-body kit, wing, wheels, lowered stance and more. I can supply images or you can use others if you find them more suitable (the car's front and rear will be based on a pre-existing kit, though modified somewhat). Please, only experienced photoshoppers apply, I know how to chop wheels or change colour myself, it's the bigger things like the kit and wing that I struggle with.

Submit your best photoshop effort of any image, and the person I choose will have the details of my car's visuals (this is information I am trying to keep as quiet as possible). This car is being built in secret as a surprise attack on Superlap, so I can't give away too many details.

Good luck to anyone who enters.

Insult it if you want, that's the whole point of the build. If a "boat" as you call it can take the fight to Australia's best Skylines, hopefully the Skylines will step up their game. The whole point of this build was not to prove what a great car Commodores are (they're really quite shit), but to prove that the Australian cars aren't developed enough. Hopefully a Commodore competing at this level will make people such as yourself angry enough that they go out and develop their cars further in an effort to beat it.

As for those interested in the photoshopping, I see this more as a chance for someone to show off their skills, rather than "hey everyone, a commondore is a great prize". It's meant more as a "look what I can do with photoshop" kind of thread. I just figure that offering a prize will bring out people's competitive nature. It's not about what you win, it's about being the one who won.

dude... it was done at superlap this year... the boat did not come close

cyber evo 1.30

r34 gtr 1.34

v8 supercar 1.40

and it was done 20 years ago in group a racing... so it is you commodores that need to get your act together.

and its not the skylines you have to compete with, as they are in a different category with the evo's and rex's,

being RWD... you will have to compete with the panspeed RX7 and the like..

good luck.

Trying to keep this thread on track, but must I point out. We all know about the "parity" rules of V8 supercars. These rules keep one car from getting an advantage over the other. None of the other cars at Superlap were built with these rules in mind. You really don't think a V8 could develop more than 700HP? And tell me that you honestly think it ran as much downforce as the Evos were running, not a chance. There are 100 other parity rules I could go into, but it doesn't matter. I can see too many people getting pissy about this, so I'll just take it elsewhere.

no its all good fun... power doesnt matter... grip and cornering is the most important.. you have to remember its R compound tyres... and regardless of the rules of V8 supercars... those things are farking quick around the track.. and have oodles of money spent on development.

they have to have downforce to keep the 285 slicks on the tarmac.. but put R compound semis on them and they fall into a heap.

i look forward to seeing your car there next year.

not having a digg, but why are you try to point out that "Australian cars aren't developed enough" with a 20somthing year old car?

i thought that VE's and FG's were now up in the world playing field.

I asked a mod to close this thread, I realise I've stepped on a few toes, my apologies. I'm not going any further with this thread as I can see that more and more people are getting pissed off with me. Anybody actually interested in how I intend to make a 20 year old POS into something decent will probably find it on some rubbish Commondore site. Please, don't bother replying to this topic telling me I'm wrong, I get that people don't like the car, just let the thread die.

Maybe in the first place you should have asked in a rubbish whoremmodore site to save u some time.

Maybe I should have, you're right. But as we all know, the majority of Commonwhore owners can barely type, let alone photoshop. I joined this site because Skyline guys know way more about getting power out of the RBs, have a look at how many 1000HP VLs there are, then how many 1000HP Skylines. Clearly you guys are doing things better.

Regardless, please no more posts in this thread. I realise I did the wrong thing, I don't need reminding.

  • 1 month later...

rough welcome guys...

I'd be happy to help out on the photoshop front but skills are very rusty, I'm sure someone would be able to help out, this is MEANT to be generally friendly site after all :D

    • Guys since i bought r33 gts25t coupe 1994 automatic a/t(manual swap 350z gearbox)  all i got is problems, always problems. Lets start with that when i turn key into ignition(ON) fuel pump doesnt always works. Sometimes i have to turn key twice Off/on/off/on until it primes. Its new, dw300 - 340lph. My gearbox broke so i did gearbox swap, install different intake manifold, injectors and i take pipes. Car was sitting in garage for more than half a year. I did assembly all not that long ago and when i turn ignition cant hear prime. All of sudden it stopped working. Theres many videos on YouTube how to make relay mod on r33 straight from battery so i did and it doesnt work! 😰 30 - battery positive  87 - positive from fuel pump to relay 85, 86 - one of two wires from original fuel pump wires(light blue, grey) and it didn’t work. so I check on ignition and took original BLUE relays wires from trunk, next to fuses. (I believe it’s IGN+ and ECU pin 18. it didn’t work…  tried connecting (IGN+ from og relay) and (ECU 104 from 1of4 FPCM wires) to my new relay 85/86 and it didn’t work.  I unplug FPCM. Didn’t work. im thinking what’s wrong   fuel pump is working, if I leave IGN+ on 85 and 86 straight to ground it works but it’s just nonstop. Since it getting constant 12v after key in ON. light blue wire gives me 6-8v.  so how this should be connected? What causing ECU not giving — on pin? Or I did sth wrong and that’s why it doesn’t work? I need negative signal on ECU that control fuel pump. What this should be?
    • You can use your VIN to look up the factory part number somewhere like amayama, and then look to order new if necessary. https://www.amayama.com/en/genuine-catalogs/nissan Depending on price you might want to rebuild instead. @GTSBoy I had an interesting insight into US market parts when the Titan rear calipers were sticking. New calipers were dirt cheap, about 20% more than a rebuild kit....they are just considered throw away maintenance items
    • Funny, but really not funny. Thank god (most) f the world has moved on since then
    • Lots of votes for driving onto a plank first; that is the quickest way I've found, 25mm is enough for my case but that will vary by car It also depends where you are going for. On the 32 I can get to the rear diff with my floor jack if I do that end first, and get it up on stands. Then I lift the front from either front tow hook as high as needed, also onto stands. Sometimes I need a small lift on the other tow hook to get it level enough If I do the front first I can't get to the rear diff because of the angle of the car Other options are getting to the front mount of the rear subframe from in front of the wheel (if only lifting one side, or just do both which is a bit of a pain compared to one lift from the diff), or also the gearbox cross member mount on the driver's side if you are  just trying to lift the driver's side. I This is the jack I use; it says 75mm clearance but of course that is only on the lower section so if you have to reach too far in like the diff you still get stuck. https://www.snapon-bluepoint.com.sg/category/Floor-Jacks/product/Floor-Jack,-2-Ton-Low-Profile
