Well i unfortunately today learnt that no they aren't a straight swap and are a fair bit of a headache to swap over.

I also installed a FMIC today if your putting in a cooler series 2 bar is much much easier i didn't even trim the bar and it fit straight back on.

So people don't waste too much on a series 1 front bar unless you can fabricate a way to fit it nicely

So i guess it is confirmed that an R34 series 1 front bumper will deffinetaly not fit straight onto a series 2 front?

That is a pain as i was also looking at fitting the series 1 front bar to my series 2 34. What are the issues that stop it from bolting on straight up? and how much work is involved getting it to fit?

Also would there be similiar issues in fitting a nimso/altia front bumper to the S2 r34 or will it be a straight bolt on?

Cheers.

I'm sorry but people like you piss me off, read the f*kn thread dude.

It's been posted about 4 times what needs to be done, most clearly in the last 5 or so posts.

And maddowse you can modify the bumper to fit if your keen on spending an hour or 2 cutting away the unnecessary plastic on the series 1 bumper so it doesn't get in the way of the series 2 reinforcement bars and then make up some clips/ties to hold the bumper into position where it meets the bonnet.

I might post up some photo's of my bumper if i get round to it

yeah that would be great , i wish the didnt make it so hard lol make me think if most aftermarket bars are made for series on then were stuck with stuffing arround hey !

i get a day off monday so ill be playing arround so see what your talking about and wether its worth the hastle

thanks for the help

If i were you i would get the parts from a wrecker and do it properly, that way it look 100%.

If you can, get a mate to help you fit the bumper to the car when you've finished modifying it, its a real pain in the ass trying to do it by yourself, when i put mine on i had to do it one side at a time and every time i tried to get the whole thing on, one side would pop off lol you have to force it a little bit :P

And have a look at getting a lip for it, makes it lower at the front and adds a bit off R34 GT-R style to it

whats this front lip ? were do i look to see what it looks like , ??? yeah ill get my mate or wife to give me a hand ,

thanks again for all the help i guess ill take some picks as i go and put up a step by step for future refence for others that are interested

Yeh ok my bad man, no need to loose your shit over it.

Maddowse, that would be great if you end up doing a write up on how you went getting it to fit.

Like the other guy was reffering a lip on the front bar would look good, thats what im planning on doing later on.

Eastbear and Uras make some good ones, the last 2 photos are uras. The east bear lip is pretty expensive but viva garage in adelade make copies of both brands, does any body else know if anyone in melbourne makes copies of these lips?

    • Has anybody had their wheels refurbished? I reckon it's likely bloody expensive. Even a sand blasting quote for my 17s was 200-300 per wheel! The E39 wheels are basic BMW M Sport (or M Tech at the time.) they have slight rash and some have signs of bad repair in the past on the lips. The main issue is that they've become really off coloured.  I think it will be too much as this is definitely (supposed to be) a budget resto. I've been looking at others for sale but they all have some minor damage and colour issues.  In the end I think I'll just need to sand blast them myself and do a respray.
    • Trying to figure out which nismo cluster i have. All the ones i see on the internet, the speedo goes up to 320kph and the revs 11k, with the nismo logo being on the rev gauge only.
