Hi ppl,

was driving my r33 yesterday, just cruising about 60, then i heard a bang, first thought someone threw a rock, got out couldn't see any damage, then as i took off blue smoke came out my exhaust - no loss of power.

i then thought maybe a turbo fin had snapped off but after pulling the turbo off, all the fins are fine. there is no oil in my coolant so, now i am 100% sure i have no idea what it is ha. it only starts to smoke when its idling.

has anyone experienced this or does anyone know what it could be? will call cypher monday for a compression test, in the mean time any help would be appreciated.

regards

Brenton

without undoing ur water and oil lines u can seperate the turbo from the manifold and check for any oil comming out of the engine exhaust ports, if there isnt(most probably isnt as you claim no power change), check the rear housing of ur turbo where the dump pipe bolts up to, if thats covered in oil, you need a new turbo (most probable)

thanks for the advice guys, pulled it off, no sign of oil, but i got a leaking gasket.. ha thanks heaps for your help, i seem to be leaning towards a bent valve or cracked rings? i guess a compression test will definately sort it.. thanks again
