ref biased, defence is shit, best player says bye bye to this years world cup. 4-0 so far. at least we made it to the world cup...

Man it was a joke of a game. German midfield/defense is far to advance for anything pim verbeek can conjure. Socceroos are not a bad team, they just need a coach like Gus to make sure each player is playing the correct position. 4 -0 is a disgusting lost.

I just watched the replay.... All the socceroos except maybe holman emerton and cahil look f**ked fitness wise. They gave the germans SOOOOOO much space! FFS.... Underdog mean go close them down every opportunity and get some fkn hard tackles in (if they dive, make sure you get them fkn hard). Cahill red card was a joke. Schwarz didn't have a good game either.

In general, socceroos all too fkn old.

Milligan in for Moore...

Bresc has extensive experience playing for Palermo and Parma in Serie A.. One of the most defence orientated leagues in the game, have him sitting in with Grella and/or Culina acting as a holding midfielder to shore up our defensive structure.. Holman to replace Cahill, and the Rook with Kennedy as dual strikers, a combination of speed and height up front, with Kewell sitting on the bench as an impact player.. With Emerton providing pace and supply via the wing, as he always does, and does well..

the only reason we made it to the world cup is bkoz of our region and the teams we went against to get there,we only played off against half decent teams to get in...if we had quality opposition we would of been knocked out a lllllong time ago...im a proud ozi but fu** do we suck at soccer and the 3 or so decent players we do have cant win games by themselvz..we should stick to the international sports we are good at like cricket n rugby etc..annnnywayz good luck to em

I disagree, we don't suck and we have some very good players. The players that lack natural talent make up for it with hard work and enthusiasm. Our problem is the coach. Games are won and lost in the tactics that the coach uses, and he has to use tactics that suit the players he has at his disposal... Pim failed at that miserably. Just because Tim Cahill is a great player doesn't mean he can play anywhere on the park. He was wasted up front. Everything about Verbeek's tactics were terribly wrong, and they have been wrong ever since he took over.

4 years ago nobody was saying we sucked at football. In fact, right up until Sunday night, people were still expecting us the Socceroos to do well. Germany are one team that could completely expose every single on of Verbeek's mistakes and make us look stupid.

Switzerland on the other hand, that is an example of what you can do with excellent coaching and enthusiastic players...

i for one hope that the ozzies destroy ghana

They won't, Pim left all Australia's strikers behind :)

My hope is that Germany dented their pride enough to spur them onto a 1-0 win. But my prediction is a 1-0 win for Ghana. Australia won't score more than 2, probably won't score more than 1, and that is if they score at all. They simply don't have the firepower. Their only hope is to keep a clean sheet and hope to steal a goal.

Who else was there though? Aloisi? Too old and not good enough any more surely?? Thomson?? I mean seriously what do we have up there??

McDonald.

And bringing along Thomson would not have been a bad move, at least it would have given us someone to bring off the bench. As it is, we literally have two strikers, Kennedy and Nikky. Neither of which are prolific, and only really have the ability to do damage to teams if they are partnered up front together, in which case we have no strikers to replace them off the bench if need be.

In a World Cup squad, you need at least 4 out and out strikers. If you don't have that then you don't have the necessary depth, simple as that.

    • So, I put my boat on a boat. First of all, I'm going to come out and say it. Why is Tasmania not considered a holy goal, an apex that all road-legal modified cars go to, to experience? This place is an absolute wonderland of titanic proportions. If people are already getting club runs for once in a lifetime 30 person cruises to Tassy then I've never seemed to see it. It is like someone replaced the entire place with an idyllic wonderland for cars, and all of the people living there with paid actors who are kind, humble, and friendly. Dear god. After doing a lap of almost all of the place I've found that it's a great way to find out all of the little things that the car isn't doing quite right and a great way to figure it all out. All in all, I drove for 4 hours a day for a week and nothing broke. I didn't even need to open the engine bay. This is by all means a great success, but it has left me with a list of things to potentially address. I also now have a 3D printed wheel fitment tool which annoyingly hasn't got any threads in it to actually assemble it. I might be able to tape it together to check the sizing I actually want to use, but it'll likely involving pulling the shocks out to properly measure travel at least at the front, and probably raise the car while I'm at it, at least in the rear. I scraped on quite a few things and I'm not sure how else to go about it. I was taking anything with a bump at what felt like 89 degree angles. And address those 10 other tasks. And wash the car. God damn it is dirty. And somehow, the weather was perfect the entire time - And because I was on the top of Mt Wellington it turns out it was very much about to freeze up there. I did something I typically never do and took some photos up there in what must have been -10 and the foggy felt like suspended ice, rather than mere fog. If you own a car in Australia, you owe it to yourself to do it.

    • Saw this replica police car based on a Mitsubishi Starion XX parked next to a 'police box' (it's literally a box) in Hirohata, Himeji City in Hyogo prefecture the other day. It's owned by Morii-san who is a local Mitsubishi Starion enthusiast. According to a local radio station blog post, he always wanted to make a police car himself based on ones he saw in his favourite Manga comics.  As it's illegal to modify a car to look like a police car and drive on the road, Morii-san tried many times to get permission from Aboshi police station headquarters nearby. They refused initially by after they got tired of that they granted him permission. However, the car can only be displayed on private property and obviously can't be registered as long as the police livery is present. The car was completed at a cost of 1.5 million yen (US$ 10,000) in addition to the car cost. A location was chosen outside Hirohata Police box where the car can easily been seen from the street. Morii-san has two other Starion road cars, both widebody GSR-VRs.
