Slotted Dimpled Or Not

im going to get some new rotors for my r32 gtr non brembo and have found some zonelli dimpled slotted ones..but i wan them to be quiet ...has anyone got dimpled slotted rotors that can comment?

hey mate ive got the rda rotors all round that look exactly the same as that.. no dramas at all. they managed a track day fine and are wearing well

so no noise even around town?

I have RDAs like jenkies but just on the back. No problems with them. Noise is more about the pads and the way they're fitted than the rotor.

my current rotors are grooved...thus squealing with different calipers and different pads only thing left is the rotors

Have you got the anti-squeal hardware and grease installed? Changing rotors to get rid of squeal will be a waste of money IMO. Search here first - there's been a number of threads about this.

yep all been done, same components with different rotors no squeal

Brake Squel comes from the pads not having right contact or temperture. or they get to low

I run dba 4000series slotted rotors on mine and they are terrific.

Only run cross drilled when going on the street but if your taking your car to a track stick with slotteds.

"[brake squeal] is caused when the pad “bounces” in a calliper and the squeal noise is resonance between the back plate and the piston" according to EBC

Which is why the shimming and grease/paste is important, but as you say the contact area can trigger the pad to piston vibration.
