i love this sound that GT-R's make. i can't find a name for it though? i think it is the boost escaping out of the pods and it changes note as it moves from pod to pod. i can keep it going for ages in my mates gt-r but i can't put a name to the sound.

here is a video showing the sound fairly quietly.

it's my comment asking about the sound at 3:42. it's actually more like 3:45 minutes so wait for it.

thanks people!

its a pidgeon trapped in the engine bay

no really its just a "flutter" can get a bov that makes same noise but louder/crisper

thanks but i can't find it anywhere by searching flutter. i would have thought if i love it, someone else would too! it's a wicked sound! so it is just a twin turbo fluttering?

Most blow off valves will open after a certain point, if you don't make enough pressure to open it, it will remain closed and the air will travel down to the pod filters resulting in the flutter sound.

Here's something to do, open the bonnet, and rev the car a little bit say 2.5 / 3k and you will probably hear it more clearly.

The setting on your blow off valve will also determine when it opens.

thanks. i'll give it a go sometime soon when i see him. cheers

It's the factory BOV's.

They "bounce" off each other on part throttle. That video isn't anywhere near as loud as they get.

Mine can bounce or "teeter-totter" maybe 5 times off each BOV, easier in higher gears/load etc like up a hill.
