its an upgrade for the monitor...it gives you a lap timer,2 bar boost display instead of factory 1.2 and a trick G force grid...It shows a dot in the centre of a grid and the grid is separated into .2 Gs up to 1 g...as you drive it shows the g force on the car.....It also has data logging feature for all the functions of the MFD(multi fuction display...or what we know as the telly in the centre of the dash!)Has a few other features too....

hehe ahh yes the xbox... stealing my ideas n all... yeesh...

as for the nismo doohickey, was it standard on UK spec R34 GTR's coz I could of sworn I've got a video of a dude rambling on about it as a stock part. esp the G meter n stuff, and how you can log data to your laptop for review later that night.

Like Jeremy Clarkson says...

"Plug this into your computer, and you can compare your drive home with the ight before... [insert pommy sarcasm here].. wow, that should impress the ladies"

hehe noof I've got a 250gig too now... and its filling up fast. I need that SDK disc badly.

I'm actually thinking of doing a datalogit style decoder that will hook up to an xbox and give you live readings straight from an ECU (not a power FC). Once I get the go ahead from uni I should be able to do it as my final year thesis. It shouldn't be too hard.

The datalogit is a bit much for a simple piece of hardware with custom decoding software on it. And going by the reviews I've read on it, apparently it was developed using sample data, not reverse engineering of the Power FC, so I dunno bout its accuracy. But then again, its pretty much the only thing that works in english.

Wow.. someone else with any interest in this stuff..

I've emailed the guys from Datalogit about running it on an XBox, but with no reply. Simply running it on the Xbox on Windows CE (when its ready..) or under Linux (using VMWare or Bochs or something..) is an option -- the xbox has USB so it really shouldn't be that hard.

I agree that DataLogIt is quite expensive, but considering what kind of people would be interested in buying it.. its what the market can bear after all :)

What University are you going to? I work fulltime but am completing CompSci at Latrobe Bundoora (2 Subjects left) at the sametime.. I used to live up there and all. Small World :)

    • Oh, also, forgot to add these photos I believe.
    • Thought i'd update on this. I was able to get in contact with Craig Lieberman and later on Darryl Alison (owner of Kaizo Industries). Darryl was able to help me verify that my car was in fact one of theirs and is helping me find more info on mine !
    • There's restrictor pills in the stock boost control hoses. That's how they set the amount that was bled off and hence the "high" boost setting. The usual mod in the day was to remove it and send the "high" boost setting up to about 14 psi.
    • Thanks Duncan, that's the best info I've read. Furthermore after learning about the PCM programming side controlling the factory boost solenoid, the purpose of the solenoid is to "bleed" boost when pin 25 is earthed, thus allowing spring pressure in the wastegate actuator to overcome diaphragm boost pressure, thus closing or reducing the position of the wastegate flap creating more boost as the turbo is able to spin faster. It's pretty cool to see a designated Pill to do exactly this, would have liked to have seen it with a tiny filter over the end for those moments in vacuum.  The constant bleed pill has now been removed completely from the system and solenoid boost control has been restored once again.   Case closed 😂
    • The wideband reading is meaningless if it's not running. Why are you using shitty old sidefeeds on any engine, let alone a Neo? What manifold and fuel rail are you using to achieve that? Beyond that, can't help you with AEM stuff as I've never been their ECU/CAS combo.
