Anyone Going To The Drags Next Wednesday? (29th Sept)

Recommended Posts

anyone else go.. post times?

I'm pretty dissappointed again by my 14.2s pass

although I seem to be getting alot of tramping from the rear end up to 100km...

I think its my lowered suspension and 19" low profile wheels yeah?

My car was pushing 230rwhp, and now i have a decat and new plenum intake so should be around 250hp?!

What were your 60' times?

Managed a 13.7 when I bought my 33 and took it down stock. A good 60' time is going to get you a good ET as long as you don't bounce off limiter or miss a gear.

I'm keen to take my R1 down but too scared to take off full bore down a drag strip just yet.

13.9 @ 165 km/h (260rwhp R33)

not really happy with that considering my 196rwhp CA18 S13 did a 13.8

the Work 18's on the rear weren't a good choice - they either bogged down or span all the way through first belting limiter.

Anyone get any videos / pics?

13.7 stock? geez im putting out 280rwhp. the 60' was 2.39 on my best run. i guess the 18in wheels and stiff suspension doesnt help? some pretty bad axle tramp on 1st gear when i clutch dumped at 3k rpm.

Get Some Stockies on 16's n put Slicks on it.. n Stock Suspension @ da back if u can so it squats down so u get more grip...

I got 13.7 wif 2.2 60'@ 104Mph.. 3 years ago putting out i say 250HP on 17's wif street tyres..

With the Right Tyre, Suspension n driving skill a low 13's is a possible...

U can try decreasing ur Tyre pressure.. let's 36 to 32 to 28 etc.. n c what's best..

I got told to run stockies wif 225/50 put down to 16-17psi.. do little burnout to warm up ur tyres...

yeh i have 16-17in stockies off an s14 i think. wouldnt know how much roughly a pair of slicks are? i have HKS adjustable coilovers, could i myself fiddle around with them to make it squat more? not really clued up much in the suspension side of things.

I was in my 2003 350z

Anyone else know of 350z 1/4mile times?

LOL I had to launched from Idle... If I even tried to take off above that it'd just tramp and spin :S

:(

my best time that night was a 14.240 @ 160.6kph

reaction time 0.690 (slowest lol)

and 60' time was 2.367 on that pass (not quickest though)

    • A few small updates since the previous post and lessons. I decided to do a little interior light upgrade on the 110. I quite like the iilumo items, even if they're a bit of a premium over other brands. You'll also note the Stedi Fogs, that will go into the S15 fog lights as I needed to match the bulbs since I got the new ones earlier. I hope they fit as the body is quite a bit longer than your normal bulb.  Annoyingly, I managed to trip the fuse, which normally wouldn't be an issue until I located the fuse. I can't say I've ever come across this. I had lucked out that someone nearby had a spare, but oddly enough Toyota dealerships seem to keep this in stock. I ordered some to keep in my stash and as luck would have it, someone else nearby tripped the same fuse so I passed on the favour.  I also did a little service on the 110 ahead of some additional work coming up. It's been annoying that Goleby's stopped carrying this particular HKS filter for the 110, so now I need to keep them on order from Japan. I also took the opportunity to install a bash plate and number plate riser. The plate riser is such a cheap but nice fix to help really tidy up the car. I'm tempted to now also replace my headlights, on this car. Both items were from Project Aero.    I also needed to replace the rear tyres on the 110, and after trying to get it aligned learnt that I need to replace some bushes in the front end, so that's next.  Closing out this update with a nicer picture as always!
    • Yeah mate, never miss it.
    • Any going to watch World Time Attack at SMSP this year?
    • Appreciate the correction on the "ground", that will make a huge difference to looking at this. That makes complete sense about AF70/AF71 which is what I had come down to being the issue, one of these. I'll have another look in the ignition wiring when I get a chance next week. I'll also make up a jumper wire for running that AF73 test.  ECU is fine, relay itself is fine, pump harness is fine and the pump itself is fine. I am going to upgrade the Walbro 255 anyway with a DW300 I have since I need to replace the fuel sender and I'm going to upgrade the FPR with my chasebays kit ready for new plenum/injectors/dbw, but I'll get this working first. That's why this is so frustrating.
