Im ready to get my car tuned, found 4B Action at cardiff nsw who are a nistune agent. Quoted $1100 for them to send ecu to nistune to fit daughter board, and full tune. Is this reasonable? Anyone dealt with them?

I need a bigger fuel pump and injectors. What fuel pump do i need to fit to a s2 neo stagea , where to buy it and how much should i pay?

Ill probably go with seimens 650 cc injectors.

Advice please guys.

I have the same car, fitted with nistune.

I recently put the walbro gss342 in mine, fitted straight in. http://cgi.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vi...em=180533428704

They are tricky boards to fit, i had mine done locally but it needs to be done by an expert with the right gear.

A cheaper option may be to send your ecu directly to matt had get him to fit it for you, and then get them to tune it.

That listing doesnt cover the type 4 board, which the OP has. Matt will fit and supply the board. Board is 260, fitting is 60

**EDIT**

Type 4 board, same seller/tuner http://cgi.ebay.com.au/NISTUNE-TYPE-3-4-IN...=item2c56c7df1c

$1100 is what a lot of tuners charge. there are some cheaper though. it really comes down to how much you trust the local guy. if you trust him to do a good job then it is worth paying the extra money to get it done locally, that way if something goes wrong you can take it back there easily to get it sorted.

I sold my 300zx to a guy in the hunter, 4B is almost the only one listed in newcastle for tuning the Nistune. I gave the guy their contact details, they tuned his car and he was very happy with it.

By all accounts he was pretty thorough, but i have had no first hand experience with them.

$1100 is about the norm but I'd be making sure you get a Single User license for the Nistune software with that...

Board - ~$260

Fitting - $beer (I have a mate that does the soldering for me)

Single user license - $200

Tuning - $400-500 (~4hrs on dyno @ 100-120/hr)

Total - ~$1000

OR

Buy the board yourself direct from NIStune, find someone to fit it, then just pay the tuners tuning costs.

so it seems fair, the shop is only 2 minutes away so that makes everything simple. when i get the board fitted to my ecu can i drive the car to the shop with bigger injectors and a z32 afm? what impedence injectors do i need?

No, the k multiplier will need to be changed for injectors and the AFM. the standard injectors are standard resistance, the seimens are fine, no resistor needed.

If you have a User license for the software you can go in and use the inbuilt tool to change AFM and injector size, this should get you close enough to drive it to the workshop (just don't boost it up).

you can ask matt from nistune, or whoever is doing your board, to have the board ready for z32 afm, and whatever size injectors you're putting in. then the car will start and run to get you to the dyno.

exactly. you can have them set up the ecu so that you can put the afm and injectors in while the board is being done, then when you get the ecu back, just plug it in and it will drive fine.

I still wouldn't load it right up until it's been tuned though. The inbuilt tool for changing the afm and injectors comes close but odds are things still need to be massaged to be running spot on.

    • This looks great! Awesome to have the 5 speed with an LSD in this. The Recaro's look like SR2's or SR3's. It's a shame they've been retrimmed as they would have looked sweet in their original colours. I think I'd want my agent to be a little more up front and informative too. I've never imported but I reckon it would make me a little nervous, so the more info the better.
    • Thanks for doing that Duncan! Makes you a good person in my books. We don't get kangaroos or wombats here. But we have bats and it's similar. AFAIK it's often the mums with a baby attached that get hit because they drop lower when starting from a tree. If you hit an animal, check on it. https://www.ifaw.org/au/resources/wildlife-rescue-app An app to get the closest wildlife rescue contact.
    • My dream is also to have a proper hoist, but I don't think it will ever happen. My quickjack is probably as close as I'll ever get, it really is very good though.
    • Yeah we keep on in the dailies, it is pretty poor how many animals get hit and the driver leaves without checking....have saved a couple of little ones over the years. Bit of a gruesome job though, pouches generally need to be cut open because they are so tight and often the joey doesn't realise mum is gone so they are still locked onto the teat. I checked the modules in front of the DS wheel where an oil cooler should go.... There is the radar unit - that can go for race use) One of the 2 HX water pumps, the silver cylinder. That needs to be kept but might be able to be relocated But the bad news, the big computer mounted vertically in front of the wheel (blocking any potential air exit) is the electric steering computer. That is required until/unless i do a hydraulic steering conversion, and in CAD based modern car design it is not like I can just pop a big unit like that somewhere else (plus the loom would be too short anywhere else too). So, the passenger side is OK to clear out (just use a smaller washer reservoir, potentially elsewhere), but the DS no beuno
    • Well, all the best with the new camry It was interesting to hear about the UK process, it is generally a lot more streamlined here with a shipping agent looking after all the import side (noting the exact final price can still be a surprise.....) and I've used a few different brokers on the japan (or US) side, and never had any trouble with any of them....luck of the draw I guess. You mentioned you didn't get the auction sheet (understandable since you bought it from a dealer, not auction), but I always try and get hold of that because they are pretty thorough. I've imported 2x R grade vehicles over the years and both were fine, repairs in Japan are pretty thorough compared to here in Oz.
