Hi there, I've bought an R33 GTR with a single turbo conversion. Its a monster, and its pushing 275rwkw at 15psi; when tuning it they increased the pressure to 17psi and it pushed well over 300rwkw, but they wound it back to 15psi because they said the stock head gasket wouldn't handle it and I need to replace it, the pistons, and conrods before looking at the injectors and fuel rail. I was under the impression the stock internals would be good for up to 600hp; are the forged or not? how much psi can the head reasonably take? I'm sure there is a thread on here somewhere about this but I can't find it, so would be very appreciative if someone could give me some answers.

Well the internals aren't forged so 600hp might be a bit much.

But I don't see why you could upgrade injectors computer and fuel pump and go for 300-330 rwkw?

Just note I'm no expert so don't rely on what I say :P

Thanks for that; I'd be happy with 450hp. It already made over 300rwkw with stock injectors and pump, and has power fc commander, my mechanic is telling me the head and internals are the limiting factor and I'm starting to wonder if they are trying to generate some business for themselves. It would be great if I could just add a few more pounds without spending big $$.

Leave it as is until you have the money to go for a rebuild ($10k +).

If you want to run big power, realiably you will need some big cash to go with it. The wagon in my avatar had 500rwhp, its still going today. It cost around $15k to put together.

Thanks, I guess I'll just enjoy it as it is. It's a shame though, as the turbo the last guy put in it (only just run in- I removed the rev limiter) was chosen for a 500hp setup. It's not very efficient running such a large turbo at low boost right? Is there any other reason that may justify me doing a rebuild?
