I just found this whilst strolling through Yahoo Japan.

It's an 280D (Diesel) GT C211 Sedan and you can have it complied in Australia for about AU$13500.00 + rego

Wouldn't it be nice!

Cheers, D

Better tell that to my 1971 Patrol I have in my shed then... Or the whole swag of early model rotaries or the 1967 Alfa 1300 GT Junior that I've previously owned :P

I agree with you that it's rare, but old non-turbo diesels are woeful to drive - it's like wearing your jocks over your pants, it's different but not necessarily better ;)

Least we agree on some of it. I wasn't suggesting driving it would be fun, just interesting to own for nostalgic reasons.

You had an 1300 Juniour eh! I used to have 57 Giulietta Spider and my all time fav alfa is a 105 GTV. I think they would have won Bathurst if they had have kept their wheels on.

Your Patrol belongs in a museum lol

Cheers, D

holy crap, i never seen one of those still on the road!

Me too...luckily

Interesting thought though to start a collection of "classics" that no one wanted

Would be a jewel in the crown of a collection of classic Morris Marinas , Austin Tasmans and 200B's

My Junior was a 105, was awesome for getting girls - ironically the first time my girlfriend (now wife) drove it, the brakes failed! Maybe it knew something I didn't...

The Patrol is a genuine 58000miles with books! It had been sitting in a shed for the last 15 years, and the owner bought a new car and needed the garage space, and decided to sell it rather than let it go to waste out in the elements near the sea. Mechanically, it needed a radiator recore and the front seats retrimmed, and she's right to go. Blows no smoke at all - once we charged the battery it fired first go too. The plan is to restore it for the Bay to Birdwood Classic next year.

    • Yes, unfortunately that's the one. Signal was noisy to begin with; after driving once and looking back at the logs I saw pressure constantly swinging between 0-200psi, or staying at 0 randomly for a few seconds. There's a lot of good sensors that share the same look and feel, so don't presume they're all bad. I bought mine for 20$ off Amazon and I should have read the reviews prior, as it's clear they're junk.  I purchased a lowdollerr motorsports sensor.
    • wedding eh.....I seem to get to more funerals than weddings or christenings these days....
    • Yep, cheapest options, neglected and abused. The fastest way to dislike a car is to get assigned that model by a budget rental company
    • The noise complaint could be from absolutely anywhere, and anyone. Get it actually noise level tested to find out if you're actually over, or if you're fine. If you're over, quieten it down. If you're under, carry the test results in the car with you.
