E-cutout stock front/dump vs. 3" dump/front E-cutout

1. what how much difference really? 5rwkw or so? and 500rpm fast spoiling?

then how about;

2. Stock Dump/Front E-cutout vs. 3" full system turbo back?<---- what will be better?

basically trying to anaylse which will be cost effective with minimum difference

thx

dump---> front pipe --->E-cutout--->cat---.>cat back--->muffler

ok its a dodgy picture but it represents an exhaust system,

Point 'x' has an electronic flap where it can open and close by a siwtch inside car.

So if it is closed the gases will past into the normal system, which includes, cat. catback, muffler. back to stock

If Flap is open the gases obviously just pass right under the car, bypassing cat/catback/muffler. :D

which would be hella loud, like a v8.

P.s. I took my muffler off a few months ago from the cat back, so I only had the front/dump on. It sounded shit, the backfires were heaps loud, and have you ever heard a holden 202 with no muffler? They sounds nearly the same. The neighbours wondered what was going on when I did it lol. Took her for a blat, but I live in a small town so coppers werent too much of an issue

we "bypassed" the exhaust (unbolted the cat) on my mates R30 L20et for a trip to ec. yeah, sounded fairly interesting, like how i would imagine a poorly tuned 253 V8 with a T-88 hanging off it would sound. the turbo whistle was insane

those valves used to be sold thru street machine in the late 80's. a guy who used to have on his mini used to have it open on thusday night 'MacNats' and would shut it only when a cop appeared. never saw him get busted

mupkant: would this be the same as a 'screamer pipe'? I am thinking of having a screamer pipe put on when i put on the 3" front/dump pipe....

im not sure...

this is just a replacement for an entire exhaust system.

from a flick of a switch you have

1. free flowing ON

2. back to stock exhaust OFF

- daily driving you can have it back to stock nice quietness

- for the tracks or drags switch it ON for performance wise.

good for being a sleeper :(

imagine a skyline flying past ya, with roaring sound, then you look at its rear and see the stock muffler with 2 small pipes, you'd be "wtf....."

theres that new back pressure valve, it works from around the final muffler and at normal driving you get low flow and when you put your foot down it opens right up to get max flow, just think of running a 3.5"-4" system with a nice quiet sound till you put the foot down!!

    • Hi, i’m making Vag coil loom for rb25det, can anyone confirm the wire guage i’m using for power supply in diagram is enough for supply not too small for loom? For earth do i need to follow the same procedure or i can use only 16awg wire for all coil and their connecting wire following to the plug?
    • Did you panel beat the dents or have you tried to repair this only using filler?  Is your sanding block soft/flexible and is following the shape of the panel rather then just knocking down the high points?
    • I haven't knocked them down yet. I think I made the repair more complex than it should have been. I had rock chips combined with waviness and dents and I tackled it all in one because it was near each other and just end up wasting a bunch of bog lol. I'll knock down those areas and see how I go. And yep what you are saying at the end is correct. I think I might be sanding the top of a steep hill then my sanding block falls into the dent and gets rid of the guidecoat if that makes sense. Though shouldnt unless I'm covering too big of an area with not a long enough block. I'll try something new and provide some updates. Getting there though! Thanks as always.
    • Yeah makes sense, hard to comment on your situation without seeing what your doing. I was talking generally before, I would not be looking to randomly create low spots with a hammer to then have to fill them.  It's hard without seeing what your doing, it sounds like you are using the guide coat to identify low spots, as you're saying the panel is still wavy. I don't see how you're not ending up with patches of guide coat remaining in a wavy panel? Once the high spots are knocked down to the correct level, surely to have a wavy panel you need low spots. And those low spots would have guide coat still in them?
    • So I'll put filler past the repair area a bit to make sure I don't miss anything. Then I'll block it until it's almost level, put the guidecoat, then keep blocking until it's gone. Then it's still wavy.  In regards to hitting the panel, I saw this video might give more context - Skip to 0:47 he knocks it down. But yeah I'm sanding until the guidecoat is gone then checking because otherwise my filler is still well above the bodyline. Unless what you're saying is I should put guidecoat around it early, surrounding the filler then stip once it's gone?
