Hey all,

I'm looking at buying a second hand set of Power Enterprise 650cc injectors for my car, I just want to find out what I should be looking for to make sure they are what is described?

The seller gave me the part numbers on the injectors and he seems quite helpful. But I want to make sure that they come with everything that is required to fit them, so what is usually included with drop in injectors? I imagine seals, etc??

Anything else I should ask or look for?

Thanks for any help,

Martin.

From the research I've done, these injectors should be straight drop in for my car, so shouldn't need spacers or anything to make them fit.

How much does flow testing usually cost? If I need to fork out big money to get them flow tested then it sort of negates the benefit of buying second hand so I would just buy brand new... Only reason I am considering these is that they are more than half the price of brand new ones.

seals are cheap and should be changed, flow test and clean would be worth it too.

I got new seals for a set of denso's i sold to a fella here in perth the other day from sean at automotive service solutions.

or if ya want ive got the top seals here at work.. can sling ya some

The danger is if you don't get them flow tested then one or more cylinders could run lean, wrecking your engine. If they've come off a running car then the risk is small, but if they've been off a car for a period of time then they could easily get clogged up with dirt etc.

Thanks Paul, $66 for the whole lot so not expensive at all for the piece of mind! They have been off the car for a long time so if I get them then I'll get them flow tested. If they have got clogged with dirt, is that fixable or would they be useless?

Do you know how many kilometers they travelled? Or does the seller have a receipt?

The guy selling them now bought them off another user on here but never installed them on his car... says he was told they have traveled 3000kms. I'm a little bit iffy about it because of that which is why I thought I would ask, but if they are legit then I'm getting a near new set of injectors for more than half the price of new ones!

Yeah, for that price its definately worth the piece of mind  Usually if they're clogged they can just put them in an ultrasonic bath to clean them up, and most the the injector parts are fixable. Go for new seals, as the seals are usually damaged when the injectors are removed.

i can flow test them for you if united hits you back

ill be able to tell you if they will need fuel rail spacers too by comparing them to stock gtt injectors i have at my shop (more than likely they will require a spacer but you only need 2 anyway so dont let it scare you :D )

    • Is it alright to top up with just another green coolant?
    • thanks GTSboy. My confusion at the moment is i am trying to locate the ignition, ECU battery power and the ECU negative The closest thing i can find is the for the S15 on Page 8 of the Wiring Specialties web page https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B9F33_M_GgENQnZ6STMxVmVNd1E/view?resourcekey=0-eZ4nNRwRoqa1qvKlWWHm8A I cannot find the same diagram for the R33 RB25DET Series 2 dash plug pin out.... Do you know what the Pins? or know where i can find the same pinout diagram for the RB dash plug? Thanks for the advice on the box... i like a 6 speed so might be on the lookout or the box now.. a topic of discussion for another post...
    • Will have a look at that. I cant see any leaks
    • Put another overflow bottle (ie, a 1.25 coke bottle or similar) under the overflow hose and see if it is being pushed out there or if it is disappearing into the engine.
    • Staring on a stand is no issue. You just have to wire everything up, give it fuel and cross your fingers that the stand is robust enough. Arranging the inlet plumbing is often the hardest part, without any surrounding structure to hand some of it from. No need for coolant if you only want to run it for <1 minute. As to the gearbox - I think the little Aisin box is a bit stronger than the other small Nissan boxes that went behind SRs, but I wouldn't be too keen to test its limits with the torque of a boosted 25. I don't know if you can retain the box and the tailshaft. The box won't connect to the RB without an adapter of some sort, which is either a plate that will push the engine forward (which is not good for fitting it into the bay's available space) or push the box back, which messes with the box position and tailshaft length - OR - cut and shut work on the bellhousing, which is a long way from "least modification". I'd be buying a new 370Z 6 speed or similar, doing what has to be done to that to make it fit RB (ie, cut and shut bellhousing) and the requisite tailshaft custom/mods.
