have you guys seen these things???

to quote the website: they run a Yamaha 1200cc four cylinder 16 valve twin-cam engine producing 125bhp with integral close ratio straight cut gear sequential dog engagement gearbox.

and they only weigh 450 kg!!

my friend's brother has just bought one...he's going up next week to get the car and some training from Phil Ward, the guy who's behind these things.

The car itself cost him around 32K, but he's looking for sponsorship...he's sent a proposal to Shell (umm yeah the company, not me :D ) to paint it up like a Shell Helix car, but hasn't heard anything yet.

apparently he will pay around $450 to race in a round. That includes his pit, and passes for his pit crew (ie mates!!) for the weekend.

His first race will be Wakefield and the end of Sept apparently.

I think I'm gonna go up and watch, these things look cool! I wanna see them on the track :D

They were on the power tour until it went under the other week, I last heard they were looking at sticking commonwhore or falcon front ends on them and supporting the supercars.

There was one running at Wakefield on the last UAS track day back in April- pretty quick little cars.

    • All my Polish car culture insight comes from watching Nightride. So I half expect this to get 1UZ swapped eventually?! Are you going to drive it in winter? I'm always curious how ATTESA would hold up in the snow. There isn't that much opportunity to try it in Australia.
    • My steering lock unit on my Infiniti G37 has failed. The car is a local 2012 Infiniti G37 (Q60 ) I need to replace the unit My local mechanic said i need to buy a complete steering wheel assembly. Does anybody no any mechanics in Gold Coast or Brisbane who can fix this issue or where i can buy just the Steering lock control unit. Thanks
    • thanks, will conduct myself accordingly. i unfortunately put about 150 miles on the car before reading this thread again, however no PS issues, and definitely no turbo issues. it spools normally and still feels fast to me, probably because my previous car was an N/A auto sedan...gonna go fix the PS vacuum line though lol. safe to say, got what i came to this thread for. thanks
    • Agreed, I've never seen a 260RS specific manual. As GTSBoy said it will mostly be stagea other than the engine loom https://www.hgeconsulting.com.au/stageaservicemanual.pdf
    • You'lll likely have to make do with R33 GTR for engine/tranny stuff, and Stagea for the body. I don't know that there's even been an actual diagram seen in the wild.
