once again it's been a while since i've been - when i used to go to at EC it was on only once or twice a month.

whats it like out there now its every week? many people from this forum still head out?

I think benm regularly attends to spectate
Sure do -although- last week I actually went to race after spending over an hour in the scrutineering line and then another hour in the line ready to race (whilst moving a whole 3 spots forward) to then watch it piss down.

Which reminds me.... I gotta ring them to find out about my ticket from last week, they said i'd receive something in the mail but I haven't.

If you plan on going to race get there early (ie 4pm).

Well another packed out nite at WSID (I think I need to go to WSID Anonymous).

Arrived at 6pm to spectate to discover 160+ competitors waiting out the back. It was a 4 lane carpark all the way past the scrutineering and back to the Pit Entry Lane. A friend waited 2hrs to get his first run to end up with 3 runs from 5pm->10pm. They actually sent competitors home whom arrived late because their was too many to begin with. I think they are going to need to change the starting time to something earlier to cut off the competitors at about 120

Didn't see many Skylines there  Their was a black R33 GTS-t doing 13.5-14.0's all night which looked to be fairly stock. A blue LJ doing low 9's (NOS Assisted), the Hayabusa was doing 9's. Afew pack cars in the 8/9's. Afew Comonwhores with some broken gearbox/clutches :aroused:

Good nite of racing and an excellent crowd (bigger than the "Drag Combat" Event held last Saturday).

Had a guy in a little Corolla trying to drag me the whole way home on the Hwy. Got about 1km from home and realised it was a mate :headspin:

WSID havnt got it right yet in letting people know that it was tickets only last night at the competitors entrance yesterday, i was with my gtr on a trailer waiting for 2 hours to get in the back but security would let anyone in with out a ticket, security almost got bashed by some lebos who has the shi*s, and the line up was rediculous, esspecialy when people bring there stock vk holdens and think they gonna run 10s all night, just a note to all the poeple who take there stock geminis and other stock vehicles," if you havnt moded your car or tuned it for the night dont take it down casue when you gt on the line and pop your cluch and have to be towed away you ruin it for everyone else who has to wait for whours till you get you car towed off the line and have to clean up the mess.

if you havnt moded your car or tuned it for the night dont take it down cause when you get on the line and pop your cluch and have to be towed away you ruin it for everyone else who has to wait for hours till you get you car towed off the line and have to clean up the mess.
In all honesty I seen 3 cars have issues from 6pm->10pm. Each of them took around 3-4mins to be removed, even the quickest car of the nite had an issue (parachute let go after the burnout).

It's the d1ckheads in the Magna's with the shopping trolley wings that do a 150m burnout (with no smoke) that are more to blame of holdups.

yeah thats true, magnas should get banned, esspecially with those stupid shopping trolleys, that dont help to break the 19sec pass

Actually it was doing 15's the same as 300kw HSV's

If you wanting to "ban" cars ban the <10sec cars, but then again thats what brings in the crowd.

If I was JR i'd be having 100 cars on Wed nite and 100 cars on Fri nite but just make it 5pm-9pm or something.

yeah well yeah well like i said prepare your self for the track dont just rock up like your going to the movies. have what you need ready and run your time. i mean it in a good way, and hope everyone the best of luck, ill be there next week at midday waiting to get it.

anyone takign their gtr down to the creek next week>?

    • I checked the injectors again (1 and 2, since they’re easiest to access) to make sure they weren’t clogged. Even though the entire fuel system had been cleaned, I wanted to be certain. Everything looked clean, so I reinstalled and connected everything. When I started the car to confirm everything was okay, it immediately revved up high, so I shut it off straight away. I checked to see if I’d missed a vacuum hose or something, but everything was connected. On the second attempt, the car ran without the high idle, but I noticed a distinct “compressed air” sound coming from the engine bay. Tracing the sound, I pushed injector #6 forward slightly and the noise stopped — it turned out it wasn’t seated properly, despite the fuel rail being bolted down. While holding it in place, the car idled steadily without stalling and ran for over 5 minutes. At this point, I pulled all six injectors out just in case I hadn’t seated them correctly or dirt had gotten onto the O-rings. Unfortunately, I discovered that I had damaged 3 out of 6 injectors (the OEM 270cc ones) during installation. So yes, this was my fault. Since only the pintle caps were damaged, I’ve ordered a Fuel Injector Service Kit from NZEFI to refurbish them. In the meantime, I reinstalled my new injectors – the car now idles fine for over 15 minutes without stalling. I have not attempted to drive it so far. It’s not perfect yet, as it hesitates when the throttle is pressed, but it’s a big improvement. Unplugging the IACV with the new injectors idles at around 800rpm, even with the IACV screw tightened fully. But this is probably due to tune.
    • I wanted to try and preserve the front bumper as long as possible, they're not cheap and are made to order in Japan. Taking inspiration from my previous K11 Micra build where I made an undertray for the Impul bumper, I did the same for this BN Sports bumper but a little slimmed down.  This time round I only made a 'skid plate' (if that's the correct wording/term) for just the bumper surface area, the Micra version covered the gap like an undertray. Starting off with a sheet of mild steel approx. 0.9mm thick 4ft x 2ft in size. I traced around the bumper, cut it out and cleaned the edges. Luckily I was able to get two halves from one piece of metal In the video I installed it as is, but I've since then I've removed it to spray and add a rubber edging trim. The rubber trim is suitable for 1-2mm and it's a really nice tight fit. The bolts had to be loosened due to the plates being too tight against the bumper, the trim wouldn't push on I used some stainless M6 flat headed bolts for a flusher finish (rather than hex heads poking down), I believe this style fastener is used for furniture too incase you struggle to source some. The corner's are a little wider, but this may be an advantage incase I get close to bumping it  The front grill got some attention, finally getting round to repairing it. Upon removal one fixing pulled itself out of the plastic frame, one side is M8 that fixes inside of the frame, where as the other side is M5. Not knowing I could get replacements, I cut down an M8 bolt, threaded it inside the frame along with a decent amount of JB Weld.  The mesh was replaced to match the bumper. One hole on the bonnet/hood had to be drilled out to 8mm to accommodate the new stud, once the glue had set it could be refitted. I think the reason the grill was double meshed was to hide the horn/bonnet latch (which makes sense) but I much prefer it matching the bumper Bumper refitted and it's looking much better IMO The Youtube video can be seen here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bVZP35io9MA
