Factory 5
As these are definitly hard to find parts for, I really appreciate what you have done with this. Below is the proposed C211... needs alot of TLC (efi was a surprise!) Ghostrider
Im sorry to here about your stolen car, ive had this car since 1983.Cheers Not stolen from me! I have had one of my PNV's since 2001 and that car was destined for the crusher in Japan, before connections of the importer rescued it and exported it to Australia, where it was registered & garaged, till I bought it in 2001. I am it's 2nd and last Aussie owner. It has been garaged by me since going through a gradual rebuild/refurb with certain performance upgrades along the way. As for the L20et not being a huge power beast, you're correct, but with 108Kw at the flywheel and driven through an 4.11:1 R200 diff and being relatively light, mine climbs over Mt Ouseley coming out of Wollongong in 5th gear @ 90kph with 2 pax easy as can be, so it's adequate for it's intentions. Cheers, D Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/343751-1978-c210/page/2/#findComment-5542624 Share on other sites
Ghostrider
Mario, With your knowledge, is there any chance the C211 was a stop gap model, somewhat similar to the 420 compact Jag? hcg210
Mario, With your knowledge, is there any chance the C211 was a stop gap model, somewhat similar to the 420 compact Jag? D Good question Mate, all i know is the c210 was released in october 1977, and were facelifted in august 1979 to the c211, They continued up to july 1981, so they made a plenty. Except in Australia Nissan imported only 30 a month, because it was under a import quota system Nissan decided to import other models which were cheaper. The c211 remained mostly in Japan some were scatted around the world, but Japan held most of them. The Australian Govt: was always protecting the local car market from these type of cars. can you imagine if Nissan had imported the c211 turbo here what would holden and ford do to match the Japanese cars thats why they wanted Nissan to drop the GT logo, and Toyota too they and the insurance companies would not have it so Nissan dispec: their cars and put GL BADGES on them and removed all the top goodies found in the Japanese cars. When the R30 came it too was dispec: look at the difference of your car compared to the local Australian Delivered R30. Cheers. Cheers, D Im a bit like you, i enjoy my driving, and Skylines love those twisty bends and mountains, when i was younger well i did i guess the same as young guys today do...I guess nothing really changes. i find the l20et a very reliable motor and i enjoy it. even the straight 2.4, 6 is more than adequate, i think im starting to mellow. I can chirp the tyres on my L20et PNV fairly easily on dry roads and can get it a bit out of shape changing gears if I try How old is "mellow" Mario? Socrates
Clutch dumping first in dry doesnt spin long enough or has got too slow to put brakes on. Can chirp second gear, from 5000+ in first. in the wet possibilites are limitless, 3rd gear before u leave intersection, all that jazz. Silent Shadow
haha with my 210, i gave up on trying to do burnouts pretty quickly as power is non-existant. One night in a quiet industrial estate with the boys i joined the drift train and managed some pretty decent 80km/h entries! but the exit end of the drift was fkn hairy as there is about 10 degrees play in the steering wheel. I rejoined the audience for health and safety reasons. Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/343751-1978-c210/page/2/#findComment-5543212 Share on other sites
Socrates
hahaha i'd like to see standard C210 drifting, i find theres just too much understeer. I always keep funny business to the wet now if that, just don'tt want to cause a lot of damage to car.
