two40
fuel has been treated with octane booster. heard from tim@bd4's today. said it's the ecu and it needs to go on the dyno. will be done tomorrow. denham, i know what you mean about the fuel but a bit of booster fixes the problem in most situations Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/346-shes-home-and-shes-sick/page/2/#findComment-10765 Share on other sites
two40
spoke to my mechanic today. he plugged in a stock chip and the car ran fine. it is definately the chip. now listen to this, spoke to my insurance co and he got me thinking that the panel shop has spiked my electricals. the turbo timer spiked as you guys know and i wouldn't be surprised if the ecu did too. i'll find out tomorrow when tim tries to tune it. the idiots probably tried to jump start my car from the battery. how stupid can you be. you do not surge an efi car with leads you fools. it looks like they might have to buy me a new pfc. and test all electricals. fingers crossed. over Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/346-shes-home-and-shes-sick/page/2/#findComment-10766 Share on other sites

two40
clutch start it if it is a manual. with autos you take a risk. i've never owned a pair of jumper leads cause shit like this happens. over Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/346-shes-home-and-shes-sick/page/2/#findComment-10768 Share on other sites
meggala
yeah you can jump start an efi but you put the black lead or negative to a grounded position Ie the engine block etc. but never on the battery meggala Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/346-shes-home-and-shes-sick/page/2/#findComment-10769 Share on other sites
two40
they must not have grounded mine. all other electricals seem fine. not too sure about boost controller but this would have just died if it got shorted right? Guest INASNT
onarun how stupid r those c**ts u left the car with?? I would think the skylines would have sum protection circuitry that would protect the electrics if sum dero would try jump start it! Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/346-shes-home-and-shes-sick/page/2/#findComment-10771 Share on other sites
JiMb0
So when jump starting a Skyline from the engine bay, you ground the negative to anywhere but the negative tab in little black boxie thing on the left, then put the positive on the positive tab ? What happens if you do ground the negative to the negative tab then jump it ? Would it by chance f*ck your battery over big time ? two40
heard from bd4's this morning. apparently the af settings were out which means someone was messing with the pfc. it could still go either way though ie i might have to pay for everything or the panel shop might have to pay. it all depends on the insurance companies' decision. fingers crossed Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/346-shes-home-and-shes-sick/page/2/#findComment-10774 Share on other sites
