Hey I was looking at getting this, Really cheap price for a turboback. Just wondering if anyone has one of these on there car? Just from looking at it, I think it will be a bit loud. I'm after something quiet though, but the price has me. What do you guys think?

I Was also looking at the kakimoto regu, which seems to have good reviews on this forum, but just the catback alone is more than this full exhaust.

My cars stock to.

I used to have this system on my r33.Great flowing exhaust but it was too loud for a daily driver.I ended up changing to a kakimoto with an oval rear muffler. So much quieter. Now that i only drive my r33 occasionally i wouldn't mind having the hyperflow back! Sounded insane on boost.

Looks like ill have to go kakimoto. Did you keep the JJR front pipes on and just put on kakimoto catback and that made it quiet?

yeah, kept the dump/front pipe. They actually sent me the bell mouth instead of the split on which i kinda glad of now because i have heard that the splits give you boost control issues.

Oh I'm not after boost issues :D, Guess ill have to order the front pipe and highflow cat from somewhere and get catback second hand if i can manage to find a decent one. Was I missing any other pieces needed?

Now these both have good reviews but its a Catco vs X-Force highflow cat decision and for the front pipe i'm not sure which to get.

I had that zorst on my old R33 and it was too loud. My GF at the time used to wear ear plugs, I then too noticed that it was no longer enjoyable to drive the car. Sure the power increased dramatically but the noise just made the drive really loud. I ended up selling it for 600 bucks 6 months later and went with my stock zorst.

Yeah im really not after anything loud, seems pretty much everythings over the legal limit.I just dont wanna put one on and have to change it back to stock straight away for epa test I have alot of cops here in Frankston area :P. Is it bad to change the downpipe to 3" and put on a highflow cat and use the stock catback? I've checked other forums and they have mixed opinions but most of them said they done it and it works fine, WRX/BMW forums. I know it's probably not the right thing to do but I'm just curious if its ok or not.

    • I might be way off the mark here.. there must be a T junction under the manifold. That takes manifold pressure through a check valve prior to the T, one side splits out to this bleed off orifice, the other straight to the wastegate actuators.
    • Carrying out some engine due diligence before my first drive in a 260RS that has been in storage for 10+ years, and found two lines that are susposed to be plumbed into the boost control solenoid. One of the lines (the wastegate boost supply line) to actuate the gates, had a bolt in one end blocking it. The other line (main boost signal line) from the very rear of the intake manifold (RB26DETT) and runs up to the boost controller had this pill in the end of it as seen in photos. Other than the obvious (T28 Ceramic turbos might well be cooked)  Can anyone shed any light on if there is any validity at all with this mod, bleeding a constant fixed rate of manifold boost pressure off through this 3mm hole?  Is it deliberate?  Was this a 90s Jap mod done to RB26's? Or has someone just fitted this without any idea of what happens to ceramic T28s if they are not gate controlled?
    • This looks great! Awesome to have the 5 speed with an LSD in this. The Recaro's look like SR2's or SR3's. It's a shame they've been retrimmed as they would have looked sweet in their original colours. I think I'd want my agent to be a little more up front and informative too. I've never imported but I reckon it would make me a little nervous, so the more info the better.
    • Thanks for doing that Duncan! Makes you a good person in my books. We don't get kangaroos or wombats here. But we have bats and it's similar. AFAIK it's often the mums with a baby attached that get hit because they drop lower when starting from a tree. If you hit an animal, check on it. https://www.ifaw.org/au/resources/wildlife-rescue-app An app to get the closest wildlife rescue contact.
