so_tred
I posted a topic a few weeks ago about this problem but didn't get anywhere so I'm here again with some updates. The problem is that my car developed a hesitation while cruising. No engine lights came on the first few times however after a while the SLIP light would come on & stay on (TCS turned off). Lately at times the engine light will also come on with the SLIP light. Took it to a workshop who ran the ecu error codes and came up with the code for the AFM so I bought a brand new generic one and still have the same problem. It's slowly getting worse & worse with it having a extremely tough idle on start up this morning then cutting out completely. Ideas? Randon_I_Am
Sounds a bit like the coipacks. When they start letting go, it brings on the TCS and SLIP light, sometimes the ENGINE light as well. And loss of power and hesitation. so_tred
I would be thinking coil packs as well but it has Splitfires. They were put in about 50-60,000kms ago but I'd expect them to still be good?? V28VX37
The problem is that my car developed a hesitation while cruising. No engine lights came on the first few times however after a while the SLIP light would come on & stay on (TCS turned off). Lately at times the engine light will also come on with the SLIP light. Engine light + SLIP is typically caused by busted coil packs. Next time they light up have a look at the ECU fault codes - the paperclip method is easy to follow. If you get 21 (ignition signal) it's 99% certain it's the coil packs. 50-60k they should still be good but you never know. so_tred
I've had a look at the codes and I'm getting 11 which is the AFM - have tried a brand new AFM and that hasn't fixed it so the ECU is no help in this situation.. Randon_I_Am
Maybe it's as simple as a bad connection on the AFM plug. Or a faulty bit of wiring somewhere. Some contact cleaner (or even WD40 works) sprayed inside both sides of the connection should make sure it's getting a nice clean electrical connection.
