Well it's way early and I am not alone for this trip I'll be joined by: Excuses, Jason (rocking my old 32) and the other Clint (SPR34) We will be trying to get some video footage and record the day as we go (video Camera has only just been set to charging.

Man you guys missed out on one hell of a morning it was great, Plenty of space on the track to open it up and a good feed. Plenty of socializing this morning too got to spend some time having a look at some really nice engines and talking to some really awesome owners.

i went to clints and he was too busy fapping over everything, yeh son!

We will organize a morayfield run to lakeside or qr one time.

btw, giving u all a heads up, clint, jasse and jay (clints sheboy) will be doing some footy training/fun for jay at morayfield high school (buchannan exit, follow straight to school. u will see the 3 skylines parked inside, if ur keen to come out and have some fun you are more then welcome!

Well as some of you know, there are one or two things that require some attention on my little beast, so I went to folks place for the weekend (has a nice big shed with all my tools), and started to have a look at some things, took the cover off the coil pack and had a look, well guys, it looks like the cable from cylinder one cable is disintegrating, showed Mel what it looks like and well verdict is I'm getting new ones, so will need to know what ones are best to get and how much, a link to the site would be helpful, also, I have put the boost controller I got a while back into the car (sorry not going to muck around here don't know enough), and as I was looking at my old sorry looking beast next to the skyline (pulsar), I forgot I had put on a saber intercooler onto it before I got the skyline, so I measured it up and found this one to be the exact match as the one on the skyline, so fellows next time you see me, I will have a brand new intercooler (I say brand new as I bought it new and never used it at all except installing it).

So yeah, if I can get some info for the coil packs and a hand sometime in the next few weeks, that would be great

That would definatly be an issue

380, no known (major) issues with the yellow jackets besides they are known to fail (rarely):/ clint will know better as he runs it on his 34.

If you want high horsepower, spitfires are made for 1000hp engines, but hell expensive (go yellow)

JJR are also good, but i only found 2nd hand on ebay :/

We are willing to help out with what ever you need:D

Thanks mate, yeah the boys were talking about the yellow jackets, not really interested in major power so I don't think I'll be going splitfire, so looks like I'll be going for some other brand, just can't remember them all

What year model is your car so we make sure you get the right coil packs (series 1 & 2 are different)

So glad I have my BC Racing Coil Overs put it that way.

The one on the right a little, the outer caseing is breaking apart, no melting at all just not much plastic around it, so a new loom will cost $100, is this brand new or second hand?

    • The chart of front pressure to rear pressure (with one being on the x axis and the other being on the y axis) is not a straight line on a typical proportioning valve. At lower pressures there is a straight line with one slope, and at higher pressures that changes to a lower slope. That creates a bend in the line at that pressure, called the knee point. If you do not change the proportionng as the pressure gets higher, you will suffer excessive pressure (at one end of the car or the other, depending on which way you look at the proportioning action) and then get lockups at that end. The HFM BM57, from my memory of previous discussions, is based on the BM57 from a different car (to a Skyline), with a different requirement for the location of the knee point and the distribution of pressure front to rear, and so is not a good choice for an upgrade on a Skyline. Here's a couple of links to some old posts, one from here, one from elsewhere. A lot of it pertains to adjustable prop valves, but the idea is the same. There are plenty of discussions on here about this issue from al the many years of people wanting a cheap/accessible option. https://grassrootsmotorsports.com/forum/grm/learn-me-brake-proportioning-valves/236880/page1/ https://grassrootsmotorsports.com/forum/grm/learn-me-brake-proportioning-valves/236880/page1/
    • Yeah dunno why johhny posted that here with no context, just post on FB/insta bro where he put it up?  Laine had an off at T4 during Thurs prac, he's ok, car is less than perfect, they are done for the weekend, he can fill in the rest. Bando also binned it like 100m up the road.
    • I feel there must have been a FB/insta post and the weekend did not start well at all I hope everyone is all okay
    • Yeah, I guess its pretty easy to get to if this doesn't work. Just wait till next oil change and pull it out. I am going to have to do the oil pan gasket soon and thought I'd just replace it while I was there.  Thanks
    • All that matters is you're safe and you were able to type that post. Hopefully heaps of parts you can recover for the next shell.
