Sorry, I'm not interested in buying your engine, but I am curious as to how someone spends the time, effort and of course money to build a $22000, 1000hp engine, drives it 1500km then suddenly needs to sell it at a huge loss.

the guy i bought it off of got it built for his street gtr and decided to take it out to put it into another gtr for drag racing but decided he wanted an rb26/30 instead.

Still doesn't answer why you are selling it though after only just purchasing it.

i dunno what fuss is about,, wish i had a spare 10k i would snap it up right away,, he does not need to give a reason for sale as u could just put it on a engine dyno before purchase if u are serious about buying this bargin and are skeptical about the sale. GL with your sale mate,, surprised its not sold,,, bloody tight arses.

8500....? ill give u 9 grand if u engine dyno it and prove its a healthy new motor capable of 1000hp...

pm me when your ready

That is a little hard for him to do. The motor was built by a reputable group(matouks, he is quite famous for his RB's). I'm sure if you call them up and ask about the motor they can help you out. I don't think scr33m has the turbo and other gear needed to demonstrate the 1000hp. Just because he bought the motor does not mean he has the turbo and other gear for it.

Just because a workshop built A 1000hp engine it doesnt mean that this is the one, the only way to proved this thing has all the fruit is to pull it down and have pictures of ALL the parts that are in it, for the sake of being able to proved everything is there you dont even need to replace anything except the head gasket.

Showing the engine sitting on a pallet like that means nothing to me or anyone who is actually looking to buy something like this to save themselves some money

As far as i'm concerned with seeing the picture thats been supplied of that motor all it has is cam gears, ati balancer and a piss weak single plate clutch sitting next to it.

Biggest sus thing for me is the bog stock turbo's sitting right next to it on the floor like they've just been pulled off.

I never said it was or wasn't I was just saying that you could call up the builder of the motor, inquire about when the motor was built, who it was built for, the parts used and what ever you need to ask. Most reputable builders are true and honest because they dedicate them selves to the products they build.

And my argument was not about not pulling apart the motor. Someone on previous pages asked him to chuck it on an engine dyno. I know the turbos sitting near the engine don't make it look too great but you can't expect the guy to have all the gear to get it thrown on a dyno to attempt to prove power. I was not arguing against pulling the motor apart for photos of piston tops, studs and looking into the head for head work, but more so the seller having the parts to obtain a engine dyno displaying the power output.

Its like when you go to inspect a car to buy. The seller can give you all the words in the world saying he has forged pistons, aftermarket rods, new bearings and what not and be asking just an average price. He can say he bought the car from bla bla person with the mods done and have no receipts. You can't ask the guy to strip his motor down just to show you it has the parts before you buy it. I know the situation is different but its the same thing. My brother has bought two fully built 13B motors. One had paper work, the other had nothing. Both motors were shown on a pallet. Both were built by reputable builders and sold on forums just like this(aus rotor). He contacted the engine builder to attempt to verify the original seller and the parts and work done on the motor. Both motors have done what they were told they were to do and are now with other people who bought them off him.

If you don't feel comfortable, you should not outlay your money. Even if someone showed me photos of the engine internals, I wouldn't buy it. A motor is something I would not buy without my own personal inspection. Each to their own. I'm not angry or anything I'm just putting shit out there lol.

And someone PM'd me offering 6k for a motor. I AM NOT THE SELLER lol.

    • Even more fun, leave all the ADAS stuff plugged in, but in different locations, hopefully avoid any codes!   And honestly, all these new cars with their weird electronics. Pull all the electronics out Duncan, and just shove an aftermarket ECU and if needed a trans controller in, along with a PDM. Make it run basic but race car styled!
    • To follow up a question from earlier too since I had the front bar off again (fking!) This is what is between the bumper and the drivers side wheel And this is the navigator side, only one thing but its a biggy! So basically....no putting coolers in the wheel arches without a lot of moving other stuff. Assuming I move to properly race prepping this car I'll take that job on and see how the computers respond to removing a whole bunch of ADAS modules
    • So I prepped the car for another track day on Wednesday (will be interesting to see coolant temps post flushing out and the larger reservoir, with a forecast of 3-14 being 20o cooler than last time I took it out). Couple of things to mention; since I am just driving the car and not taking a support vehicle, I took the rear seats out and just loaded the back up Team Trackday style. Look at all that space! To cover off removing the rear seat....it is weird (note the hybrid is probably different because it wouldn't have folding rear seats) Basically, you remove the lower seat base, very similar to a r series but it is a clip that pulls forward to release the base rather than it being bolted down. Easy Then, you need to remove the side section of the rear seat on each side. There is a 14mm head nut at the bottom of the side piece, the it slides upwards off a hook at the top to release; you also need to unhook the seatbelt from the loop at the top. Then the centre piece is weird. You need to release/fold the seats forward with the tab in the boot on each side From there, there are 2,x12mm headed bolts holding the rear of each seat to the folding bracket, under the trim between the rear seat and the boot (4x christmas tree clips there, they suck). The seat is out but you can see where the bolts attach to the bracket
    • As discussed in the previous post, the bushes in the 110 needed replacing. I took this opportunity to replace the castor bushes, the front lower control arm, lower the car and get the alignment dialled in with new tyres. I took it down to Alignment Motorsports on the GC to get this work done and also get more out of the Shockworks as I felt like I wasn't getting the full use out of them.  To cut a very long story short, it ended up being the case the passenger side castor arm wouldn't accept the brand new bush as the sleeve had worn badly enough to the point you could push the new bush in by hand and completely through. Trying a pair of TRD bushes didn't fix the issue either (I had originally gone with Hardrace bushes). We needed to urgently source another castor arm, and thankfully this was sourced and the guys at the shop worked on my car until 7pm on a Saturday to get everything done. The car rides a lot nicer now with the suspension dialled in properly. Lowered the car a little as well to suit the lower profile front tyres, and just bring the car down generally. Eternally thankful for the guys down at the shop to get the car sorted, we both pulled big favours from our contacts to get it done on the Saturday.  Also plugged in the new Stedi foglights into the S15, and even from a quick test in the garage I'm keen to see how they look out on the road. I had some concerns about the length of the LED body and whether it'd fit in the foglight housing but it's fine.  I've got a small window coming up next month where I'll likely get a little paint work done on the 110 to remove the rear wing, add a boot wing and roof wing, get the side skirt fixed up and colour match the little panel on the tail lights so that I can install some badges that I've kept in storage. I'm also tempted to put in a new pair of headlights on the 110.  Until then, here's some more pictures from Easter this year.
    • I would put a fuel pressure gauge between the filter and the fuel rail, see if it's maintaining good fuel pressure at idle going up to the point when it stalls. Do you see any strange behavior in commanded fuel leading up to the point when it stalls? You might have to start going through the service manual and doing a long list of sensor tests if it's not the fuel system for whatever reason.
