How I've never spotted this thread before escapes me.

White 33 black bonnet (lol) red front bumper (double lol)

Keen on cruises/meets in the future.

This thread seems to blend in pretty well for what I can tell confused.gif

But welcome anyway. Always good to find another local skyline/nissan owner. Cruise to Brisbane on the 25th to meet up with some other SAU members. Then a local cruise to a pub for a feed on the 14th of april.

Will attempt to make it to the cruise to brisbane work stuff permitting.

Should be able to make it to the april meet also.

There is definantly a lot of skylines in town would be good to see the community grow. :)

Shucks, if I come along, I'll just sit in my little corner then hey while you guys all talk RB and stuff...

Hahaha If you have a nissan I'm sure I could think of things to talk with you about, I've got a s13 as well.

Well we cannot spend the whole time talking SR's now can we nyaanyaa.gif Where are your Japan pics? I wanna see pics of the glow in the dark cars teehee.gif

LOLOL Said cars were north of Tokyo. I was actually in Osaka...much much further south :P

I got the Japan pics here but perhaps this is the wrong place to post them up.

Chris - Perhaps the next time you have something going on at your place, I'll bring the pics in a USB for all to see ;)

And it has a couple pics of the cars you originally requested

Random question guys, what can i do to improve my fuel economy other than cleaning out the AFM and replacing the O2 sensor?

I do a round trip of 160 k's per day and am only getting 300 k's from a tank :/

A lighter right foot lol. AFM and O2 is a good start. Is it a stock ECU?

leaking fuel tank? busted fuel lines?

Repco will be having cheap electrical contact cleaner starting tomorow. Use that to clean the AFM contacts and filament. Leaves no residue.

O2 sensor a "bit" more expensive LOL...but you'll make up for the cost in fuel savings alone after a couple weeks with that sorta consumption.

Kudos motorsport on here will be a good start to look for one unless someone can recommend another place.

Apart from that, you'll just have to live with the RB consumption. Almost every skyline I've seen leaves a big cloud of black smoke upon changing gears.

Perhaps a shift to the 'light' side (pun intended) would be in order.

2 less cylinders, cheaper rego and 650+km/tank fuel economy for me :P

sonnyQ- yeah mate from Toowoomba to Ipswich every day.

me_larr- I havent noticed any fuel leaking from anywhere but ill have a thorough check this weekend. Ill give the contacts a hit this weekend as well.

This is with a light foot guys :/ if I drive it hard ill go through a tank in a return journey. Got an O2 sensor from Vulture Motorsport on here, just waiting for it to rock up.

Don't forget the filament inside the AFM.

You'll need to remove it from the intake and physically spray the heating filament/element of the AFM until its clean of all oil/dirt/dust.

Cleaning this will be more important than just the contacts on the plug.

Should your AFM have no mesh on the ends (unlikely), try not to physically touch the filament bit.

I gots a strange feeling your economy will jump 100ks or more with just AFM cleaning and new O2 :)

    • Possibly avoid using a Cometic one unless the deck/head surface are perfectly flat. I did have a look just then and forgiving gaskets such as Tomei or Nitto don't exist for the FJ20, however the Bar-Tek or Kameari ones look good and might do the trick.
    • Because pipe threads for pipe things. M threads for bolt things. Throw some teflon sealant onto it and dust your hands off knowing you did the right thing, instead of going twice around the block to achieve a result using the wrong things. Of course, all of these solutions are ignoring the fact that the minimum thread pitch we're talking about here is 1.25mm, with the 1/4" in NPT or BPS being out around 1.4mm. You will need to know that the boss you're tapping has enough thickness for at least a few threads. That's one of the reasons that 1/8" is commonly used - because the pitch is <1mm. And why would you look to use 1/4" NPT in a BSP country anyway? Ugh.
    • Just throwing around ideas, does it need to be in the compressor cover? Why not the hot side piping?
    • 1/8NPT drill size = 8.7mm. Since the hole got messed up by me, it’s probably around 9mm.    So 1/4” NPT would be next step. A drill size of around 11mm would be preferred there which is not way of my M12 (drill 10.5mm and tap M12 threads)
