We could do a catch up on Friday if you boys would commit to coming down...

I'm full this weekend man, Friday work 5am-6pm then off to qr for the drifting, then work Saturday morning then arvo party then piss up with the uni boys

Nice pics

Big fan of that skyline rocking the same wheels as me. Love the whole "OEM+" movement.

Cheers for the offer Chris but Nick is right. Would be a bit tight in the back. Whoever gets the seat directly behind yours is screwed LOL

Realistically, only my wife could get comfortable in those rear seats :P

I have had 4 in the car with me driving, wasn't very comfortable but was do-able. 3 is fine have had a mate and the old boy make trips down to Brisbane and have both been comfortable.

I think I've got a few good pics of your car Chris. Once I've got them sorted I'll send them to you, or post them up or something.

Those of you who missed out on last nights dinner, it was great. Steak was sooo awesome. Good chat about the direction that people want the club to go as well.

There's gonna be another dinner next Wednesday. Any suggestions as to where? I've had one suggestion being the German Club. Never been there so I have no idea what it's like.

Post them up on here, I hardly see any photos of my car beside the ones that I take.

Like I said on SAUQLD definitely keen to make the trip down just at a time that's a bit more suited.

Actually that's an idea Chris bro we should round up some of te toowoomba boys and head down, Tom would fit right in at te German club :D

We will try to work something out. Why would a South African fit right in at a German club? lol

Will definitely come down on a Friday night if organized

Going through pics now Chris.

Is 2 weeks enough notice for you guys if we organise a dinner for a Friday night? Or do you think a dinner in Toowoomba would get a crowd? I'm fine with heading your way if it means we'd have a good turn out.

I will be there for this don't care about being tired for work :)

Toowoomba crew, here is the details for this coming week's dinner. It is a Wednesday night, but after this one we'll head up your way for a Friday night dinner.

Last weeks dinner and chat was great. We had about 10.5 people there and a lot of laughs over some pretty awesome steak.

We all agreed that next year we are going to have a bigger variety and more frequent events. A lot of them will be car oriented but also things such as go karting, paintball, etc

This week were heading to the German Club in Woolloongabba. Sausage, beer and car talk once again. In?

Who: anyone who wants to do more with the club and be in on some awesome events

What: dinner and car talk over sausage

Where: The German Club, 416 Vulture St, East Brisbane (opposite the Gabba)

When: 7pm, Wednesday 14 October 2012

Why: To discuss new and better club events

How: over German sausage and beer.

So if you're new or old to the club, love your car and want your voice heard, come along, enjoy some German sausage and have a laugh.

See you there!

I was looking after the girlfriend's son. He's 3. He only joined in half of the conversation so counted him as half a person :P

He had a fit when we were coming in and he saw Noel's GT-R. He was jumping up and down saying Skyline, Skyline! Gt-R, GT-R!!

So that was the 0.5,

What is in the works for the /Friday night dinner up here? Do I need to find a place for dinner or we could even have a BBQ at my place?

Gigity ;)... No rear wind down windows in skyline causes issue but anyway.

What's been crackin Nick?

Nothing much. Been quietly going about my business. Also been procrastinating a lot when it comes to doing up the car. I have a couple of parts I'd like to get put onto the car but I just can't be bothered. Perhaps one day I'll hit up my mate and get everything done.

Nice to see you've got big plans for yours ;)

You might want to get a mechanical diff centre, some better brakes and good tyres to suit your car's new found superpowers! (if you haven't already).

So.............when are the Twmba boys gonna meet up and do a little cruise and/or spirited drive? Its been a rather long time no?

It sorta feels like we're (when I say "we", I mean we as a group and not me having a different sub-species of car :P ) a dying breed and all the time, the number of skylines keep increasing around town. I swear I've come across no less than five 33s that have to be new to town.

    • Even more fun, leave all the ADAS stuff plugged in, but in different locations, hopefully avoid any codes!   And honestly, all these new cars with their weird electronics. Pull all the electronics out Duncan, and just shove an aftermarket ECU and if needed a trans controller in, along with a PDM. Make it run basic but race car styled!
    • To follow up a question from earlier too since I had the front bar off again (fking!) This is what is between the bumper and the drivers side wheel And this is the navigator side, only one thing but its a biggy! So basically....no putting coolers in the wheel arches without a lot of moving other stuff. Assuming I move to properly race prepping this car I'll take that job on and see how the computers respond to removing a whole bunch of ADAS modules
    • So I prepped the car for another track day on Wednesday (will be interesting to see coolant temps post flushing out and the larger reservoir, with a forecast of 3-14 being 20o cooler than last time I took it out). Couple of things to mention; since I am just driving the car and not taking a support vehicle, I took the rear seats out and just loaded the back up Team Trackday style. Look at all that space! To cover off removing the rear seat....it is weird (note the hybrid is probably different because it wouldn't have folding rear seats) Basically, you remove the lower seat base, very similar to a r series but it is a clip that pulls forward to release the base rather than it being bolted down. Easy Then, you need to remove the side section of the rear seat on each side. There is a 14mm head nut at the bottom of the side piece, the it slides upwards off a hook at the top to release; you also need to unhook the seatbelt from the loop at the top. Then the centre piece is weird. You need to release/fold the seats forward with the tab in the boot on each side From there, there are 2,x12mm headed bolts holding the rear of each seat to the folding bracket, under the trim between the rear seat and the boot (4x christmas tree clips there, they suck). The seat is out but you can see where the bolts attach to the bracket
    • As discussed in the previous post, the bushes in the 110 needed replacing. I took this opportunity to replace the castor bushes, the front lower control arm, lower the car and get the alignment dialled in with new tyres. I took it down to Alignment Motorsports on the GC to get this work done and also get more out of the Shockworks as I felt like I wasn't getting the full use out of them.  To cut a very long story short, it ended up being the case the passenger side castor arm wouldn't accept the brand new bush as the sleeve had worn badly enough to the point you could push the new bush in by hand and completely through. Trying a pair of TRD bushes didn't fix the issue either (I had originally gone with Hardrace bushes). We needed to urgently source another castor arm, and thankfully this was sourced and the guys at the shop worked on my car until 7pm on a Saturday to get everything done. The car rides a lot nicer now with the suspension dialled in properly. Lowered the car a little as well to suit the lower profile front tyres, and just bring the car down generally. Eternally thankful for the guys down at the shop to get the car sorted, we both pulled big favours from our contacts to get it done on the Saturday.  Also plugged in the new Stedi foglights into the S15, and even from a quick test in the garage I'm keen to see how they look out on the road. I had some concerns about the length of the LED body and whether it'd fit in the foglight housing but it's fine.  I've got a small window coming up next month where I'll likely get a little paint work done on the 110 to remove the rear wing, add a boot wing and roof wing, get the side skirt fixed up and colour match the little panel on the tail lights so that I can install some badges that I've kept in storage. I'm also tempted to put in a new pair of headlights on the 110.  Until then, here's some more pictures from Easter this year.
    • I would put a fuel pressure gauge between the filter and the fuel rail, see if it's maintaining good fuel pressure at idle going up to the point when it stalls. Do you see any strange behavior in commanded fuel leading up to the point when it stalls? You might have to start going through the service manual and doing a long list of sensor tests if it's not the fuel system for whatever reason.
