Will try not a get a 7. Prefer 8 for the slightly better drivetrain. A 4.5 grade french blue would be a straight buy for me tho :D

Yes thats true ;) Not bashing the Feddys.

Just pointing out that at those sizes and prices, the RS3s are the best value.

Premier time attack tyre those ones...so super grip plus decent wear.

Skids on those tyres would be madness tho. Throwing money down the drain.

We all need to do a little cruise down to QR for the midweek sprints! There were some STUPIDLY fast skylines there yesterday running mid 50's!

Chris, there were engine bays there that rivaled yours in cleanliness...on a track/street car :O

Apparently the 595 SS are hopeless in the wet. RSRs on the other hand are great!

Thats the opposite to my experience, The 595 as they are now known are reasonable, but the RSR is pretty bad, and they are also pretty bad when cold. A good all rounder is the 595EVO.

The guys running them at the sprints in the wet at LP were complaining that they were like skates. Not much fun at all.

Yep I run the Evo's on my 33 R and they're quite good...especially at around 33-34psi (tire pressure lol, not boost) They're definitely my best set of rubbers yet and they seem to also be lasting a lot longer than my old tires.

It was pissing down and they were attempting track laps on a street tyre, There are not a lot of tyres out that would be good in that situation! When I think bad wet weather tyre I think of something that is dangerous at normal driving speeds, like the Nexens I had once :O holy shit it was about 5 near death experiences per trip.

The 595 ss' are total crap in the wet, when I can bag them up at 110 when I hit boost and the road is just damp something is wrong. The guys running the Achilles 123s all had good times so I'm thinking about a set of those next.

That's weird I have no issues in my car but it's awd. never had an issue in the sil80 either. different setups I guess Edited by Bunta

      Nah that is not actually a lot. Just painting my GTR frontend and the little bits to make sideskirts/nismo flare pieces work correctly/fit on the sedan/mount up correctly came to about $7000. Is it a lot? Sure. None of this is economical. Economy would be shelling the car and buying a 2010 Corolla to commute in. The perspective of all of this is different.

      I don't see any issues here. I've been saying all along this is a big job, the price reflects that.  When the car comes back perfect I'm sure it will feel like money well spent.

      So, I started this repair and got as far as "fixing" the holes with some fibreglass. God all those years working on boats came back quickly. I decided I'd reach out to some rust guys just to see what they would say about it. I came across a guy about 40 mins away and went to see him. He said the windscreen needs to come out, that there might be some more bits around the windscreen and he'd quote them at the time. But his quote was $300 to remove and replace windscreen and $3k for the damage he can see. He said he could respray the roof for $1200 and the bonnet for another $800 (somebody has previously rattle canned it, its horrendous). This is $5300 + any small additional bits. It's a lot, I get that and the name of one of my fave youtube channels 'Not Economically Viable' comes to mind.  I'm not being financially rational, but I've taken him up on the quote. He's opening a new shop in November with more room, so we're waiting for that. I'll leave the currently missing headliner out until then. I'm looking forward to it being fixed and having the paint looking nice again (lots of clear coat issues on the roof too). / flame suit on.
