Thanks, yours is looking pretty good too. :) Yeah I thought that may have been you, although I couldn't remember your plates. Are you down south much? My mate Daniel with the Pintara wagon is an ambo, and says he's seen a white Ceffy a few times over that way.

I'd been wanting to have a look at the Tailem Bend track, particularly the drift course, so I thought it would be good to head up there for the Matsuri event. Unfortunately the day turned out to be stinking hot, which isn't great with my health problems, particularly with the difficulty of staying adequately hydrated injecting water through the tube.

So I thought it would be better to go later in the day. On the way up there, we passed a few tidy examples of classic American muscle cars, which were on their way to a big cruise also on that evening.

It was still quite warm as we crossed the Murray River.

Sadly, due to leaving home so late, by the time we got to Tailem Bend, the drifting was almost over. Deciding it wasn't worth paying $40 for less than an hour's worth of action, I turned and went back west, stopping at a lookout on the way.

I thought of cleaning the car before heading up to the Extreme Horsepower show, but figured I would only be in the carpark anyway.

There were a few big American pickups on the way in, this Ford F150 dwarfs the Mitsubishi Lancer parked next to it.

This GMC with dual rear wheels looks like it could tow a house without breaking a sweat.

There were some cars parked on the grass outside the main pavilion, including this tidy looking R34 GT-R.

At the entrance there was a 1934 Chevrolet hot rod, looking very slick with its satin black paintwork and shining chrome.

You may recognise this Cefiro fom previous posts; it belongs to Kelly from Sleeka Spares. Since my last visit to the shop, it had undergone a full respray, and was looking quite smart with the new pink and black exterior.

These were probably the most deranged rods in the show, scraping the ground and wearing tyres wide enough to raise a family on.

I'm not sure if this bottle of nitrous oxide is functional or not, but combined with the tyres, ride height and chain steering wheel, at least it's a cool way to die if so.

    • I live in Thangool I cannot buy E85 fuel there or Biloela not many servo's sell it Rockhampton the  Ampol in Gracemere won't even sell 98 , it's hard to own a high performance car in CQ and NQ .
    • Sounds like a good excuse for a trip to Australia! But yeah, trying it out is probably the best way to go about it. Please report back what you find.
    • Well as I will have both S1 and S2 front parts i will see what works best out of the two. Im not fussed if i need to drill extra holes, and im a big fan of Nutserts/rivet nuts and a nice painted dome head bolt as a way to hold stuff in place where plastic clips have broken and are hard to source new ones
    • Yeah truthfully it seems like the headlight supports for the ALTIA and S2 should be the same, but they aren't. I can only guess that the grill area of the Altia bar is different to the grill area of the S2 bar. Either that or it's due to the S1 bar having an angle up to the center bar that the Altia doesn't, or something. That said, I recently bought an Altia bar myself, and I fit it over the S1 brackets and thought "Yes, this will all work fine" so even as I doubt my own words as I post, I also daresay you'll be okay.
    • Me too. Apparently the new version of Invision will allow some customisation so look forward to a 'Love' reaction and a new 'Like' icon.
