Hey everyone. I bought my dream car yesterday, a black r34 skyline gt-t. I have saved extremely hard for a year and I am so happy. I pick the (completely stock standard) beast up on Tuesday, hopefully.

I plan on modifying it quite heavily (but not the engine, after driving a 4 cylindar camry for the past 2 years, the power is going to be overwhelming :P) and I am looking forward to all the advice that will be given to me as I am not that car savvy, but quickly learning!

I have already got a full bomex body kit on order, and a painter to spray it. I pretty much know everything that I want to modify the car, just working out the little kinks here and there.

I live in Perth, Western Australia, and I was wondering if there is a workshop that speciallises in modifying r34's? (like extrememachines to the 300zx before they went bankrupt)

Also, what is a good brand of suspension for the car? Price isn't much of an issue, but I want a smooth ride, and the car dropped on it's guts, as low as legally (and realistically) possible. Obviously I don't want to bottom out over speed bumps! :P

If I am posting in the wrong section sorry mods, I couldn't find an 'introduce yourself' section.

EDIT: I also am looking to buy rims. I like the look of the HPD Spinout http://www.lakeshorewheelandtire.com/wheels/custom/hpd-spinout-black.JPG but unfortunatly it looks like an American brand. If I bought the rims and imported them, would they be able to fit my car easily? And what size rim can fit? I don't get all these 17x7 18x7.5 numbers. Help? :)

sounds like a pristine car so please leave it as it is, body kits are all about personal choice (choose carefully) which may affect resale value down the track

Don't plan on reselling for a LONG time. I am loving every second I have with the car. Friday night I went into the city for my birthday, got shitfaced. Saturday I was hungover worse then I ever was, throwing up, dizzy, headaches. Even then, I took all my wheels off, painted and replaced. I don't go through that much pain for a woman!

Final result - attached. EDIT: Looks dirty cause it was windy yesterday and a bunch of shit blew onto them, but they are schmic!

    • How many of you guys run the synchro os giken set and at what power? Do you then also use the billet plate?  How is it launching with it, any dragy times from 0-60? 60ft?
    • Oh, also, forgot to add these photos I believe.
    • Thought i'd update on this. I was able to get in contact with Craig Lieberman and later on Darryl Alison (owner of Kaizo Industries). Darryl was able to help me verify that my car was in fact one of theirs and is helping me find more info on mine !
    • There's restrictor pills in the stock boost control hoses. That's how they set the amount that was bled off and hence the "high" boost setting. The usual mod in the day was to remove it and send the "high" boost setting up to about 14 psi.
    • Thanks Duncan, that's the best info I've read. Furthermore after learning about the PCM programming side controlling the factory boost solenoid, the purpose of the solenoid is to "bleed" boost when pin 25 is earthed, thus allowing spring pressure in the wastegate actuator to overcome diaphragm boost pressure, thus closing or reducing the position of the wastegate flap creating more boost as the turbo is able to spin faster. It's pretty cool to see a designated Pill to do exactly this, would have liked to have seen it with a tiny filter over the end for those moments in vacuum.  The constant bleed pill has now been removed completely from the system and solenoid boost control has been restored once again.   Case closed 😂
