Hi guys,

I have a skyline R33 GTST 1996 Series II. And as the topic says, my right back wheel sticks out past the guard, which is also resulting in it scrubbing, only when driven over bumbs or turning fast. To give the quick story, basically, I came to this realization of this issue with this one rear wheel sticking out, after fitting a set of R33 GTR wheels, 17x9 +30 with advan AD08's all round, 235/45/R17 on front and 255/40/R17 on the rears, which me and an owner of a Bob Jane store, researched lots to get the best fitting sized tires, for these wheels, so I'm very frustrated! as i know these fit beautiful, as my other 3 wheels are beautiful.

Before these wheels i had a set of 19 x 8.5 all round, with 245/35/R19 on fronts and 265/30/R19 on rears - I had NO issues. But I have recently looked at old photos, with these 19 inch wheels on, and you can actually see that the rear right does stick out, but was never a problem, and couldn't even notice. So it has always been like that, just these new wheels and tires show it, and it also hits the guards, which took out slight slicing of my rear tire - so angry! Now I now that im noticing it now rather then before, as these tires are 40 at the rear, in height instead of a 30..well i think that any how?

Bob Jane has NFI what is causing it, went to my mechanic he originally thought a worn bush of some sort, but after he inspected the car, it is not that and he said it has to do with just adjusting the rear wheel(s), pulling it in with the slight adjustable adjustments, being toe, camber all that. he also said if a wheel alignment place says we cant adjust any further, then may have to put an adjustable control arm..? Obviously if i roll the guards that wont scrub, but it will still be sticking out, which isn't neat at all.

My mechanic, got a measuring thing, the one with that bubble, the leveler (sorry not sure of name lol) and standing it up against both rear wheels, they actually, ARE different, left side (which is sweet) bubble is in middle, right (which is the issue) the bubble is not in the middle, but away from the car...

Also, the car is not lowered, fully stock standard height.

Sorry guys if this is all over the place, first post, and want to try explain the best as i can so you have the best understanding.

Thank you very much in advance cheers.gif

the car has probably been in some sort of accident. i'd hazard a guess that the rear K frame is bent. a friends 180sx has a similar issue after she dropped a wheel off the edge of the road and spun out into a ditch (wasn't being silly, just wasn't paying attention). the wheel was out of alignment really badly because of the tie rod (or whatever the rear wheel equivilant is) or something like that, and it was much straighter when it was replaced, but the K frame is still bent so the alignment is still out of whack

sounds like maybe a dodgy repair from an acco? :S when its on a hoist get them to check out the lower control arms (big triangle ones) as they fit across many cars but are different from model to model eg skyline and sylvia and if any of the arms were different left to right it would definatly cause your problems!

measure everything you can and compare them to the other side of the carthumbsup.gif

ps i work for fulcrum so if your anywhere near one of the stores go in for a check and tell them about the problem and they should give you a definate answer
