Need place that does generous safety certificates in Bris..

Recommended Posts

Anybody got a good mechanic or place that does safety certificates in bris? I need one for the R31 to get it back on the road. Preferably as close to public transport as possible.

I don't want full dodge as its gotta go to the transport department to look at, but then again I don't want the type of place that picks out small little things to fleece you for money. Unfortunately thats been the majority of places I've ever been to with previous cars :D

Don't want them to be going over the car to the n'th degree as I got better stuff to do than stuff with it for ages right now. Its got 95% tread, good brakes, the shocks and stuff are up to scratch and all the lights, etc work fine so to me thats safer than half the crap on the road.

So maybe there is a place your family takes your older cars to or something like that who aren't tossers and you can recommend.

cheers,

me

yes i am keeping it.. and yes, i will call you tomorrow john :)

smooth: got some places down goldcoast, actually a couple right around the corner from work look like they might fit the bill. But prefer somewhere closer because... but thanks.

    • Duncan is correct. Pitwork (and Toyota's own cheap brand "Drive Joy") were primarily created as brands to sell other manufacturers car parts. It would be weird if Nissan sold parts for Toyota vehicles with a Nissan logo on it, so they created Pitwork to sell parts for other brans Toyota, Honda etc. They are not the same as Nissan genuine parts, although they *do* meet Nissan's standards for replacement parts. They aren't supposed to be a substitute for genuine parts, but a cheaper alternative that is better than Ebay fake parts from you-know-where.

    • I _think_ that one has a christmas tree or some other retainer spike into a hole in that panel under it. Come in under it with thin scredrivers and just pry it gently up. If you rip the ears off the retainer pin....so what? Just stick it back down after with a bit of race tape and carry on with life.
