Hi everyone!

Recently, I've been in direct contact with Nick Grant from Brant Corporation P/L who are the makers of the highly regarded 'Nemesis' alarm system. They are able to arrange a group buy discount of the alarms for SAU on a sliding scale.

Single purchase supply & fit for club members gets a 10% discount.

5-9 cars booked get a discount of 15%

10+ cars booked get a discount of 20%.

NEMESIS normal RRP fitted price is $ 990.00. Motor in drivers door if required is an additional $ 75.00.

All cars would need to have the alarm be fitted in Melbourne, and all cars fitted within a 21 day period from the booking.

If you are serious about car security and want the best, then please post a reply or send me a PM so we can get this organised ASAP!

Thanks all!

did you get any response on this? maybe we can expand this to include other cities (Sydney, Brisbane etc). I have organised a groupbuy before with Nick at Brant, and he is happy to do this as long as they are all installed within a reasonable range of time (ie. a few weeks)

I am interested as I will hopefully be getting a car within the next fortnight. Do you want to edit the title of the post to include everyone else?

unfortunately not enuf response...

i would love to get this done for everyone else in all cities- however, Nick from Brant has said that the discount applies only to the cars in each separate city.

ie. if there were 5 cars in Melb, and 5 cars in Syd; then discount would only be 15% - b/c the discount only applies to each city.

hmmm ... ok ... shame then :)

alright ... well good luck with it ... hopefully you'll at least get 5. Nick is a top bloke and looks after the car clubs in general because these "group buy" type threads are sort of a promotion for his product in a sense to a specific audience, so he says thanks in a way by discounting I guess ... :D

hey what about if we can get 5 car book in on the same day and we can get 20% off.

http://www.brant.com.au/hugestocktake.htm

damn didnt realise BRANT were having a stocktake sale.

its pretty good - only problem is that its only limited to Sydney, Wollongong, Central Coast; QLD - Gold Coast & Brisbane only.

but if we can get 5 cars here in Melbourne, then we can certainly organise a group buy with 15% discount...

calvintys - only a couple ppl from sydney have expressed interest so far. unfortunately not enuf from melb [only just u and me :) ].

my suggestion to ppl in sydney - get together to take advantage of the current stocktake sale BRANT has available right now.

everyone in Melb - pls express ur interest if u want this alarm. if we can get 5 ppl, i will contact Nick Grant from BRANT to see if we can possibly also get the same discounts which apply to the stocktake sale.

How many peple here are interested from Sydney....

Could you please PM me as i currently have 3 people interested in getting the Nemesis fitted in the next month or so. The more we get the better off we are. PLEASE DO NOT PM ME IF YOU ARE NOT 100% IN THE MARKET FOR AN ALARM as it will make it hard to organise....

I spoke with Nick this morning and due to the sales that are currently happening on their alarms the Nemesis will either cost you $990 with 2 free options (explained below) or you will receive a 12.5% discount with standard Nemesis features making it $865 fitted.

Options i was told about are a lift sensor and a 2 x window closer. Those with Skylines will need a motor placed in the drivers door and this will count as one of your free options. Those with other models of cars will get the window closer and lift sensor should you choose to pay $990 for the alarm.

will give it a week or so and see how we go response wise.

Brad

PS - for fitment i will probably organise for the installers to be at Advan Performance in Silverwater for ths installation as they have a rather large car park and lots of space to work in. This is obviously open to other suggestions

hey man,

I am interested in the Brant nemesis alarm.

Also, I hear that Brant are thinking of starting a SMS service. If you talk to Nick, ask him about it and if it can be added on to the Nemesis later on when that service is available for more piece of mind for the boys.

Thanks man.

    • No, you're wrong, and you've always been wrong about this. The Nismo has 2 sets of openings. One is a real 2-way, and the other is a 1-way. There is no 1.5-way possible with the ramps that they offer. A real 1.5-way does exist. That Cusco stuff I posted is a prime example. If the forward drive ramps are, say 55°, and the overrun ramps are, say, 30°, then you will get about half as much LSD effect on overrun than you do on drive. It is real, it realy works. OK, you're slightly right. The Nismo has 55° and 45° ramps on the 2-way, so it does offer less LSD effect on overrun. But, I think that just means that they've (probably) sensibly established that you do not want actually equal LSD effect on overrun. You just want "quite a lot, but not quite as much as the drive LSD effect".
    • Just wanted to unearth this and post my baby with the new front ❤️😝 Took her to my wedding rehearsal today. Next up is getting wide skirts (after wedding)
    • Yea, that is what I was getting at in my ramblings too. The nismo one actually is a 1.5 way and a 1 way. They don't do a *2* way because a true *2* way would have equal ramp angles. Or is that a true 1.5 way? Realistically I think a "1.5 way" does not actually exist. A diff can either lock in two directions or one. It also doesn't help that a LOT of people in Australia speak about 1.5 way diffs are referring to their 1 way diff.
    • Well, the trouble with that ^^ is: The configuration shown is absolutely a 1-way, not a 1.5-way. There is no way that a 1.5-way can be said to offer LSD action only on acceleration. If Nismo cannot get that right, then it is impossible to believe their documentation. That ^ is not a 1.5 way setup. That is a 1-way.   And so now I have allowed all doubts to flourish and have gone back to look at the MotoIQ video. I originally made the mistake of believing him when he said "this is a 1.5-way" at the ~6:10 mark. Because what he did was take the gear assembly out of the 2-way opening and just rotate it one place to the left to drop it into the 1-way opening. When he dropped it in there, the cam was "backwards" compared to the correct orientation shown in all other photos of that config. The flat shold have been facing the 1° ramp side of the opening, not the 55° ramp side. And I thought, "gee that's cute", but I was concerned at the time, when he put the other ring back on, that the gap between the rings looked like it was wider then in the 2-way config. And then I said a lot of things in my long post on Tuesday that could only make sense if the guy from MotoIQ was correct about what he'd done. BUT... I have now done my homework. I grabbed a frame of the video with the 2-way config, and then grabbed another with the "1.5-way" config, snipped out the cam and opening of that frame and just pasted it direct on top of the 2-way config. I scaled it so that the triangular opening was almost exactly the same height in both. AND.... the gap between the plates is wider with the cam installed in the triangualr opening backwards. That is.... it cannot go together that way. There would be massive force on the plates all the time, if you could even reassemble it.  So, My statement on the matter? The Nismo diff is actually only a 2-way and 1-way. There is no 1.5-way option in it, regardless of what they say. Here's a photo of a real 1.5-way ramp opening from Cusco (along with the 1 way option). And the full set of 1 through 2 way options from their racing diff, which is not same-same as what we'd typically be using, but...the cams work the same. A little blurry, but it comes from this Cusco doc, which is quite helpful. AND.... Cusco do in fact do what I suggested would be sensible, which is to have rings that do 1 and 1.5, and 1.5 and 2. Separately.
