was decent, when track dried up was good alot of cars shredding tyres down the straight.. feel sorry for the guy who rolled quite lucky the roof only caved in the passenger side and the silvia and chaser that had the collision. unlucky :(

Despite the rain, Mallala was the most packed I've ever seen, so clearly the Matsuri idea was a good breath of fresh air into the drift scene. I've just got home because of the antartic conditions out there, but if they run one of these in summer it will be unreal.

it was a great day apart from the weather, but thats how mallala rolls.

Skid pan was epic, reminded me of the old Pt Gawler days, got to sit in my car(tailgate up on the stagea) and watch cars go balistic.

Fairly annoyed that i didn't take my helmet with me, My mate was running his S13 1JZ and a freshly built(ie finished the cage on friday night) Ke70 with sr20 power.

The only helmets they had wouldn't fit my stupid massive head!!!

nah not a free for all man, set schedule, different groups at different times, marshalls and fire guys always on track. Cars go through scrutineering to make sure they are safe. Yesterday was one of the best run events i have been part of from what i saw.

So cables ties are OK?

Sorry Luke, couldn't resist :P

i sure hope so cause cable ties and tape is basic requirements of any performance car

when is this event on next?

what does it cost?

is it just drift practice..................iam keen to have a go nuffin like a barge loosing control was there many bigger cars out or is it import's only :ermm:

there were a couple of commodores and even a BA ute out yesterday but yeah majority are imports.

Pete - cable ties are part of the regulations, no cable ties = fail scrutineering :P

This matsuri event wont be run again untill toward the end of the year but there is rnd 2 of the state competition on the 24th of this month and there is a practice day or night pretty much every month.

for those with face book you can sus this short vid of the skidpan setup. was pretty wild in there at times, with 5-6 cars sliding around

Matsuri skid pan

daniel and craig built that rolla in under 3 weeks just to take passengers out!

yeah it's a pretty tuff rolla, they finished the cage on friday arvo, and it has some very customer rear suspension mounts.lol

Daniel was pretty stuffed by mid-matsuri, he was up fairly late rewiring the s13, that dude is just waaaayyyy too motivated. very good fabricator tho.

Definately chucking my XXXfat helmet in the car next time, keen for some Ke70 laps and i would love a ride in his s13, that 1jz sounds tough as!!!

    • Well the install is officially done. Filled with fluid and bled it today, but didn't get a chance to take it on a test drive. I'll throw some final pics of the lines and whatnot but you can definitely install a DMAX rack in an R33 with pretty minor mods. I think the only other thing I had to do that isn't documented here is grind a bit of the larger banjo fitting to get it to clear since the banjos are grouped much tighter on the DMAX rack. Also the dust boots from a R33 do not fit either fyi, so if you end up doing this install for whatever reason you'll need to grab those too. One caveat with buying the S15 dust boots however is that the clamps are too small to fit on the R33 inner tie rod since they're much thicker so keep the old clamps around. The boots also twist a bit when adjusting toe but it's not a big deal. No issues or leaks so far, steering feels good and it looks like there's a bit more lock now than I had before. Getting an alignment on Saturday so I'll see how it feels then but seems like it'll be good to go
    • I don't get in here much anymore but I can help you with this.   The hole is a vent (air relief) for the brake proportioning valve, which is built into the master cylinder.    The bad news is that if brake fluid is leaking from that hole then it's getting past the proportioning valve seals.   The really bad news is that no spare parts are available for the proportioning valve either from Nissan or after market.     It's a bit of a PITA getting the proportioning valve out of the master cylinder body anyway but, fortunately, leaks from that area are rare in my experience. BTW, if those are copper (as such) brake lines you should get rid of them.    Bundy (steel) tube is a far better choice (and legal  in Australia - if that's where you are).
    • EMU Classic. For what I need it to do I see no reason to upgrade. Link and Haltech would both cost an extra chunk of money for a lot of unutilized features
