Hi Guys

I am organising another day at lakeside for the 30th of August :)

Format of the day will consist of 5 groups of 5 - 6 cars, doing sprints (staggered starts). 1 out lap, 5 hot laps and 1 in lap, with each driver getting about 20 hot laps provided there are no mishaps on the day.

This event is capped at 30 cars maximum.

As per usual, AASA licenses and appropriate head to toe clothing is a must. Towing and Medical will also be available on the day.

The cost is $140, or $150 if paid on the day.

First come first served :) Those who are interested can contact me either here, or on 0400 813 419.

Regards,

Ian

Ian,

Can you give me some info about obtaining the AASA licence please...

Thanks

Mike.

Hey mate. To obtain the licence all you have to do is fill out a form. Day licences are available but they are not economic if you are going to be doing multiple events, in which case a years licence is $55.

Hi everyone

I have finished putting together a small website for this event. It can be found at http://sprintbrisbane.dnsdynamic.com/Sprints.aspx

I have taken advantage of paypals API to provide credit card processing facilities for those who prefer not to do internet banking. It should also be a good place to go for further information about this event.

This event will make an excellent shakedown for anyone who is wanting to test prior to japnats. Cars on the track should be fairly minimal allowing you to get the most from your laps. There should never be any more then 6 cars on the track at a time.

Hey Ian,

I should be able to make the pushed back date. I will call you once I know for sure.

Cheers,

Ben.

No worries mate. Look forward to speaking to you :)

Hi mate I havent been to a track day in Australia before and would love to get my r32 GTR out to see what its like at Lakeside. Is there any room left ? and what are the exact requirements for attending and driving- rules, regs etc. Also where to I obtain a licence for the day?

thanks

Hey yohoRB26

To obtain an AASA licence, all that is required is for you to fill out a form and to pay a small fee - There are two options available, a day licence which costs $25 and covers you for the day, or an annual fee of $55. I personally recommend people go for the yearly option as it is much better value for money.

The safety requirements are fairly basic. Obviously your vehicle must be in a safe condition, with no fluid leaks, particularly no oil leaks, but otherwise we have no special requirements for makings for battery, tow hook etc. On a personal note, you require a long sleeve shirt, full pants, and covered in shoes, along with a ADR approved helmet - otherwise, there are no requirements. The event is designed to be one which suits street cars, so mostly you just roll up, pay your fee, put on your helmet and on you go.

In regards to spots on the day, we should be able to accommodate you :)

If I can be of any further help, please ring me on 0400 813 419 or contact me via pm :)

Hope helps :)

Regards,

Ian

    • Ok so after much research and talking with knowledgeable people I've got my turbo conversion done and it's all running great other than 1 small issue.  Car has remained auto with the na auto and tcm, I've used a stagea ecu with. NIstune board and everything is great other than my gear selection on the dash. It illuminates park, reverse, neutral, 3rd and 2nd. But nothing drive or what gear your in when you pop it into tiptronic.  I'm sure there is may e 1 wire in the ecu plug I need to move to rectify this. Dose anyone here have any ideas?   Cheers guys
    • Sorry I haven't been following all the detail, so you may have tried this. Does it idle with the tiniest bit of throttle you can add? You've mentioned the IACV, does it have an AAC valve and have you adjusted it at all (ie, screw the idle adjust screw all the way in, then back it out a couple of turns until idle is stable)?
    • My bad, I unplugged the one underlined in red instead of yellow before. With the car started, after unplugging the IACV (the one underlined in yellow), it idled at around 400/500 for 3 seconds before stalling. Attempting to start the car without the IACV will not start the car.   It does stutter and sputter for around 5 seconds before dying. However, immediately after starting it, you can already hear some slight sputters from the exhaust.   It won't start with the AFM unplugged. If it is when the car has already started, it stalls in a few seconds.   Yesterday, I did take some logs using Nistune of 3 scenarios. Car idling till it stalls Car idling and unplugging the IACV Car idling and removing the AFM I also have some previous logs of when the Car is idling till it stalls and when driving and it cuts. I am not really knowledgeable enough to understand what to look for. After every test, car idles rougher and rougher, until I have to stop. It will be fine the day after.
    • There is no difference between a 17x8 and an 18x8. The total diameter of the tyre needs to remain +/- the same (so you don't mess up the gearing, speedo reading, and clearance when turning front wheels..... so you just need to use a lower profile tyre on th 18 than you do on the 17. /rocket surgery.
    • I thought the same to start with. But then I thought it was one of those LCAs where the end of the ARB goes through a bushing in the LCA itself, instead of having an end link.
