Yes I have used the search function and it seems to give me a lot of older information.

Any recent experiences people have had with tuners in perth? I'm hoping to get an emanage ultimate thrown on my 1uzfe to deal with the cams and exhaust, seems like xspeed is almost the only option here. Not sure if they'd even try to tune a 1uz.

I've had mixed results about other tuners, mostly that they don't like to tune the emanage, although I need a piggy back that can raise the limiter to suit the cams and springs, and so far I haven't seen any other piggy backs with that option.

Any info greatly appreciated.

No not as of yet, trying to gather what info I can and so far have only managed to find that 1 place (xpeed) with the emanage listed. Going to keep looking around though, I did hear that xspeed backbench jobs a bit.

My car has already been in the workshop for 9 weeks just for cams, and still no idea how much longer.

I'm trying to steer clear of old info though as things change quickly in the industry it seems, hence the new thread.

Ah thanks, really hoping to find someone that can do the emanage ultimate though, want to keep stock knock sensor protection and auto control for now. I've ready bunch about people wanting to use the emanage ultimate but they seem to vanish before posting any results. :-|

I don't think the haltech would have any ignition control to raise the limiter

1. Copy list from the workshop sticky thead of the tuners in Perth.

2. Call said workshops and ask if they tune item X, if not do they recomend something that will do what you want.

3. Once you have found a workshop that seems good, ask for people experiance's with them and if they have given you an alternative unit, what experiance people have had with said unit.

4. Hand over the $$ and enjoy.

Thanks to those with useful info, unfortunately it looks like I fed the trolls by accident. My bad.

(edit:) Before someone decides to chime in with derogative remarks, wether it's because they're bored or because I'm not a skyline owner, I'd like to mention that workshop list was posted in 2007. And while it's a handy list I was chasing more recent information and I find asking in a forum section full of Western Australian drivers who (mostly) drive performance cars to be rather efficient, compared to ringing up every place in the directory and have them all pursuade me that they are a great workshop. Search results bring up plenty of threads of people talking about which tuner they might use, but I seem to be unable to find any actual "results".

I like efficiency.

Lamb chops are good also.

i agree to an extent, the biggest problem with asking on a forum though is your only allowed to say good things about workshops. if anyone posts a bad experience about a "reputable" workshop it simply gets deleted. so dont take everything you read as gospel

See if I hadn't have asked I wouldn't have a clue who Tristan is either, because it wasn't in the list :-) Pepperoni pizza is the bomb.

Guess I just gotta hope to catch the bad experience replies before they get deleted heh. Im going to have a chat to Tristan to see what he thinks. Thanks guys.

Trying to avoid being a Guinea pig as a lot of tuners I've come across haven't tried to tune a 1uzfe "But would love to try to"

I love the sound of the Audi S5 v8, would have to say the 1uzfe has a similar noise.

Allstar, last I heard they don't like tuning the piggyback I want, but that being said I can't choose the computer until I find the right tuner. And I read somewhere hyperdrive also don't like them (Emanage Ulti)

Whilst the Consolidated Workshop thread was originally posted in 2007, it gets constantly updated with new info as provided by members, as I believe it requests in the thread. The fact that no one has ever mentioned WTF Auto previously is the reason its not in the thread. So to avoid countless threads like this one, it was created so that people could contact the tuners themselves and make there own opinions as to who to use. Please feel free to PM me details (in the correct format) of WTF Auto and I'll add them to the Consolidated Workshop thread to keep it up to date

    • Depending on how long the car sat it is very possible for injectors to be stuck open or closed, I'd get them cleaned and flow tested. Other than that, obviously when the loom changes and the car doesn't start any more....the loom is suspect so some tracing / comparing may be required
    • Harness is for a s1 Rb25det, and it is engine and lower harness.  the old harness had broken off plugs and was in very rough condition/exposed wires and splices etc. it is not able to be put back on the car, I could visually inspect to see if they had rewired any pins on the ecu plug. The fuel pump definitly isn’t turning off it’s an external pump and very loud you can hear it. Will look at the other harness tonight, am also going to pull the fuel rail and watch the injectors spray, will update here with what I find. Pretty sure at this point it has to be something to do with injectors because car will fire up on starting fluid and cas is clicking the Injectors. Fuel pressure is steady 43psi
    • Check the injectors flow evenly, and are actually flowing what you and the ECU think they should be flowing. If it's starting up on starter fluid, you have a fuel issue. Is it possible under cranking your fuel pump is turning off?   The harness you replaced, is that the whole engine harness? Do yourself a test, and drop the old harness on and plug it into the Z32 ECU. It's possible they've wired things different. From memory S1 to S2 is different in RB25 and you may have a wrong loom
    • I haven’t pulled the injectors to watch them spray yet but they are clicking from the cas and all of the spark plugs are wet with fuel. I’ve thought the cylinders were being flooded from the beginning and was hoping fuel pressure would fix it. Tonight I am going to pull the rail and watch the injectors spray. Don’t know how to test/diagnose if the plugs are firing in correct sequence but that should be a timing thing and as far as timing goes my car still has the half moon for the cas can only install it 1 way. And my mechanical timing is 100% correct I posted photos above. Confirmed with the balancer on and off.
