My comment was taken out of context - I said:

Some cruises will be Skylines only - if it ain't a 'line, it ain't coming. Other cruises would certainly be more lenient. I suppose how we treat a particular cruise would depend on whether it's purely a social thing or whether there is a bit of showcasing the club happening too. What's the point in having a Skyline club if you don't need a Skyline for some events?

I never said we shouldn't allow non-Skylines, I said we should make SOME EVENTS Skylines only. I agree that some variety is good (I took my bike on one cruise a few months ago), and it is fun seeing how your 'line compares against other cars, but as I've said a few times already, what's the point in having a Skyline club when you don't need to be sitting in a Skyline to take part in some things?? The flip side of that is that I think we SHOULD have some events where a variety of cars are allowed to participate. That means people like Squizz and PhatMirage would be able to bring their own cars along to these events, but would have to score a ride in (or buy :P ) a Skyline to join in with the Skyline-only stuff. Does this sound reasonable to anyone else??

Oh yeah, I don't mind telling Gary to piss off, I tell him that all the time anyway :) But seriously, if it's a Skylines only cruise, and Gary doesn't have a Skyline at the time, he knows he's more than welcome to go for a run in mine. I dare say Squizz knows a few people with 'lines too. If it's NOT a Skylines-only cruise, they're more than welcome to bring their own cars.

i just wanna say that i have been in boost cruising and street commodore forums to try and sell my wheels, and have found that sau is far the best when it comes to the respect it offers to fellow skylines owners and enthuisiests. Street commodore forum users are so arrogant and pig headed, and it really pisses me off that someone with a 5L VR Commodore can think he is king shit and look down upon people cuase of what he drives, even though it is a piece of shit. im just trying to say that i think you guys have developed a good reputation for being a bunch of nice people, and i felt very welcome on my first cruise last week. i just think that u shouldnt spoil this through the way the meets are going to be negotiated from now on, it will be a bit hard to just suddenly bar ya friends just becuase they dont have a skyline, take phatmirrage and evo, they are the only two guys i met without skylines, but theyare good guys and might feel a little cut getting turned away. i think we can atleast do this a little less rough, and how about we offer some of these boys a ride for the cruises, man i saw heaps of lines with single drivers............just take it easy a bit thats all.

This isn't the be-all of cruise rules - all we're doing is discussing our own ideas on how we think things should be run.

Your two comments: "theyare good guys and might feel a little cut getting turned away" and "how about we offer some of these boys a ride for the cruises, man i saw heaps of lines with single drivers" are a little contradictory. We are not trying to turn people away (unless they've proven they're dickheads), but I think some events should be restricted to Skylines. I've said all along that those without Skylines are more than welcome to scab a ride on one of these events.

yeh for sure revhead, hey man u know the saturday night cruiz nismogirl organised thats on soon, i dont think anything but skylines should cruiz on this, were on show bigtime for that night, there is still a couple of weeks left before it so skylineless dudes should organise lifts.

Im sorry hero mate, but if squizz cant come on ANY cruise that is just BS...

Nah Squizz is more than welcome on any of our cruises... I was just having a go at him really... Someone neesds to straighten the poor lad out...

I don't think we should have non skylines at the Massive Skyline Cruise II though... Hence I've offered him a lift... He'll probably come in the Cefiro anyway knowing him...

squizz and gary are exceptions. there may be others. They both used to have Skylines and squizz still drives an import nissan rwd sedan with an RB20DET. Gary is tipping big $ into the club, is waiting to buy another skyline, and still drives a modified euro 6cyl rwd car.

Hypothetical here.

If I owned an Excel, and had an interest in Skylines, I would get on this forum.

I would NEVER try to attend an SAU cruise in an Excel! It's just not the done thing. I would get a lift in a Skyline if I really wanted to come. I would feel really out of place, and downright silly running around in a little fwd 4cyl with a pack of skylines.

If I owned a 180sx and was on the forums for A WHILE, and then wanted to go on a couple of mountain runs or something, I would respectfully ask permission first.

Reality - I would NEVER rock up to a Falcon Club cruise in my car. What a ridiculous thing to do. Hey a falcon club cruise, I'll take my Skyline..... Wouldn't I look like a complete idiot.

If I organised a cruise and a commodore and some 4cyl fwd rocked up, i would kindly ask them what they were thinking, and if they would like to be passengers, or not continue on with us.

Commodores have tried to hook up with us before on a Gold Coast run, they got the message over the CB...

The fact that a little hatch can keep up is totally irrelevant. It could be a gemini with $50K spent on it that can pants every Skyline on a cruise through the mountains and on the straights, it doesnt matter. Its not a Skyline, its a Gemini, why is it there.

Try Performanceforums, boostcruising, etc if you have a miscellaneous car and want to cruise.

This is a Skyline club, don't forget that.

Marc is right, the very fact that we are discussing it shows how open and laid back this group is.

    • If as it's stalling, the fuel pressure rises, it's saying there's less vacuum in the intake manifold. This is pretty typical of an engine that is slowing down.   While typically is agree it sounds fuel related, it really sounds fuel/air mixture related. Since the whole system has been refurbished, including injectors, pump, etc, it's likely we've altered how well the system is delivering fuel. If someone before you has messed with the IACV because it needed fiddling with as the fuel system was dieing out, we need to readjust it back. Getting things back to factory spec everywhere, is what's going to help the entire system. So if it idles at 400rpm with no IACV, that needs raising. Getting factory air flow back to normal will help us get everything back in spec, and likely help chase down any other issues. Back on IACV, if the base idle (no IACV plugged in) is too far out, it's a lot harder for the ECU to control idle. The IACV duty cycle causes non linear variations in reality. When I've tuned the idle valves in the past, you need to keep it in a relatively narrow window on aftermarket ecus to stop them doing wild dances. It also means if your base idle is too low, the valve needs to open too much, and then the smallest % change ends up being a huge variation.
    • I guess one thing that might be wrong is the manifold pressure.  It is a constant -5.9 and never moves even under 100% throttle and load.  I would expect it to atleast go to 0 correct?  It's doing this with the OEM MAP as well as the ECU vacuum sensor. When trying to tune the base map under load the crosshairs only climb vertically with RPM, but always in the -5.9 column.
    • AHHHH gotchaa, I'll do that once I am home again. I tried doing the harness with the multimeter but it seems the car needed a jump, there was no power when it was in the "ON" position. Not sure if I should use car battery jump starter or if its because the stuff that has been disconnect the car just does send power.
    • As far as I can tell I have everything properly set in the Haltech software for engine size, injector data, all sensors seem to be reporting proper numbers.  If I change any injector details it doesnt run right.    Changing the base map is having the biggest change in response, im not sure how people are saying it doesnt really matter.  I'm guessing under normal conditions the ECU is able to self adjust and keep everything smooth.   Right now my best performance is happening by lowering the base map just enough to where the ECU us doing short term cut of about 45% to reach the target Lambda of 14.7.  That way when I start putting load on it still has high enough fuel map to not be so lean.  After 2500 rpm I raised the base map to what would be really rich at no load, but still helps with the lean spots on load.  I figure I don't have much reason to be above 2500rpm with no load.  When watching other videos it seems their target is reached much faster than mine.  Mine takes forever to adjust and reach the target. My next few days will be spent making sure timing is good, it was running fine before doing the ECU and DBW swap, but want to verify.  I'll also probably swap in the new injectors I bought as well as a walbro 255 pump.
    • It would be different if the sealant hadn't started to peel up with gaps in the glue about ~6cm and bigger in some areas. I would much prefer not having to do the work take them off the car . However, the filler the owner put in the roof rack mount cavities has shrunk and begun to crack on the rail delete panels. I cant trust that to hold off moisture ingress especially where I live. Not only that but I have faded paint on as well as on either side of these panels, so they would need to come off to give the roofline a proper respray. My goal is to get in there and put a healthy amount of epoxy instead of panel filler/bog and potentially skin with carbon fiber. I have 2 spare rolls from an old motorcycle fairing project from a few years back and I think it'd be a nice touch on a black stag.  I've seen some threads where people replace their roof rack delete with a welded in sheet metal part. But has anyone re-worked the roof rails themselves? It seems like there is a lot of volume there to add in some threads and maybe a keyway for a quick(er) release roof rack system. Not afraid to mill something out if I have to. It would be cool to have a cross bar only setup. That way I can keep the sleek roofline that would accept a couple bolts to gain back that extra utility  3D print some snazzy covers to hide the threaded section to be thorough and keep things covered when not using the rack.
