What is a fair market price for my R32 GTR? It is a 1992 model, Red, imported, approximately 150,000km.

When it was imported it came with a good quality Jap catback, 18" Enkei wheels and HKS coilovers.

Since then I have upgraded the coilpacks, ignition module, clutch and fuel pump.

Replaced clutch because it was slipping, replaced the rest because of the standard skyline misfire. Turned out in my case to be the ignition module.

Overall the car is in a good condition for its age, I wouldn't say that it is immaculate but it's certainly not as rough as some 1992 examples.

I'm not in a rush to sell, but at the same time I don't want it to be sitting on the market for a year while people wait for the price to drop and drop.

I live in a regional area, population of about 200,000. There are no other GTR's on the market here at the moment, or for some time now.

The sale price will include a Nistune chip, software, cable and wideband AFR meter. None have these have ever been installed on the car.

So what is a fair price that it will sell for?

Hard to say, regional áreas usually sell for more to people of your town for example, but then your really limited, how far from a major city are you, and how many are for sale there in what price range. Somewhere between 15-18 I'd say, maybe even 20 but it would have to be very clean.

Even at the lower end you still might have a hard time selling it, I'd say around 17, it's all about the pics you say and how you advertise it

Yeah, personally I was thinking around 15k. Like I said, there are no others for sale locally that I know of, so in some ways that should work in my favour. On the other hand, could mean that there is not much demand locally. There is a r33 gtr locally for 20k. The closest r32 gtr for sale is 400km away with 17k on it., there is also a r33 gtr for sale there for 18k. About 600km away there are two r32 gtrs for sale listed at 20k, although they are heavily modified by the looks of it.

15k -17k

there ara plenty on the market for 20k but they drop their price pretty quick. it is a car that will hold its value, but its hard to say what that "value" is.. they are only worth what people are willing to pay, and fortunately/ unfortunately 16k s about the price at the moment.

i have been watching the 32 gtr market VERY closely for the last 6 months as im ready to buy onemy self

yeah me too, cant believe I'll be buying another RB powered car

you will have to get that toyota tattoo of yours removed then mate. have you factored that into the purchase price of ya gtr?

I've been trying to sell my 32 GTR for a while on Carsales and there are bugger all queries. (car ID SSE-AD-282156)

Like the original query - it's not 'as new', but the car is pretty damn good. Considering it's a Racepace setup car, I'm surprised it hasn't gone yet.

I reckon the market is around $15k or less (unless it has some big ticket items, or something really special).

something tells me that the ones that sell are usually highly modified good examples with alot of the fruit taken care of at the right price, rebuilds and exc cond ect, it seems anything over 20 without a rebuild is stugleing out there these days. not only that, but people are not spending as much.

the fact that if its not rebuilt and will need to be soon deters people from purchasing them, especially the r32 range. my recomendation is clean it up as much as you can, borrow a freinds slr, and take the best pivtures possible. comp test recipts wont hurt either

jzp, not sure if yours is the gun metal grey one for 22900 or something rather, but that seems to be a fantastic looking example, and it does look good in those pics, but if i were you, id see if i could lend a pair of rims and get it out of the driveway, it will sell, if you do take some new pics, try and keep it in the shade, pics of cars come up better in the shade IMO

if its not yours hehe, then its not i guess

Nah, not the one going for that much - mine is advertised at $16,900. It's silver, but don't want to detract from the original post.... (if you want to see it, just search the vehicle ID on carsales)...

JZP, can I ask how long you have had it advertised for and what your initial listing price was? You probably don't want to post that information on the public area here, but if you could PM it to me that would be useful. I think perhaps the lack of a RWC is holding you back from selling it? I'm going to be getting a RWC for mine because most buyers are just not interested in taking that risk.

    • Yes I can see how that would put you off HFM, especially with the price of good quality brake fluid. From what I understand it as you say the BM50 is the standard BMC for a R32 GTR, I must admit I would like to go far a Genuine Nissan BM57, but lack of cash prevents that at present. With the price being so close between the genuine BM50 and BM57 a BM57 New it seems a better choice as you gain that 1/16 bore size with the BM57, I would be interested in how much difference you feel with the BM57 fitted. I am going to take SteveL's advice in the short term and see how much actually comes out of that proportioning valve vent and save up for the Genuine Nissan part. Thanks for clarifying the HFM failure
    • Thanks mate. I just got the post inspection 1/2 done from state roads when the starter motor packed up, either that or the car alarm system is having trouble.  OEM part number 23300-AA112.
    • Hi, I though I was coming to an end in finding a replacement starter motor for a rb25de neo. I came across a starter motor from Taarks and a message below stating: Direct fit. 11 Tooth count. All below part numbers have been superseded to 11 teeth. Can some body shed some light on going from 8 teeth to 11 teeth apart from 36-month / 25,000 km warranty for passenger vehicles to 12 Month Warranty. Compatible with the following Nissan part numbers: 23300-20P00 23300-20P01 23300-20P05 23300-20P10 23300-20P11 23300-AA111 23300-AA112 23300-AA300 23300-08U10 23300-08U11 23300-08U15
    • Low battery? Maybe check capacity? I know first-hand, on BMWs if your battery drops below 80% capacity, it starts causing strange issues.
    • 8.5 +37 = should fit rear, but I think it'll hit on front. What you want is low 30s/high 20's front, mid 30's rear. That 17" screenshot you posted looks good, I'd run it on my R32 (but that's long dead now). For tyre sizes, my rule of thumb is: 8': 235, 9": 255. But that's just my opinion. Nismo sizes: 18x8.5+35/18x9.5+38 is a good starting point.
