i only ever got pulled over in my r33 once. it was at about 10pm on a sunday night. on my 10 min drive home the only other car i saw was the police car, so it was kind of obvious why i got pulled over. it was just an RBT and licence check and then i was on my merry way again. i was never pulled over in my 180sx.

a guy i used to work with at maccas back in the day was pulled over all the time. i think he was up to about 80 times in 6 months. he drove a bog stock r31 (this was in 99 or 2000) and i think he also had a vn commodore at 1 point as well. he was also in his mid 20's at the time. multiple times he was pulled over within 50m from his driveway (when leaving). they were always for RBT and he was never booked for anything. it was the fact that he started work at 5am, so he was driving around at before 5 and the police thought he might be DUI. he didn't think of it as being picked on (although it did shit him off) because he know that he was driving at a time that A: a lot of people would be driving home after parties where they may well be over the limit, and B: there are bugger all others on the road so the police pretty much pull over anyone they see.

i have been pulled over on numerous occasions in noosa (i finish work at 2amish) and have never had any problems with police... the only semi bad one i had was a bloke in cooroy who thought i took a corner to fast but still diddnt check my car over or fine me...

Also i had a mate who got pulled over every single night 5 days in a row by the same police officers for rbt's all on his street...

If you mod the car for attention (bodykit, loud exhaust, DRFTKNG plates etc), hang out in stupid places and drive like a dickhead, then yes

If not, then no

Exactly, drive it smart and don't put a 4 metre high wing on it with 400 stickers and you'll be sweet.

Also i'm not sure if many people know this but police officers have sort of a check list, the first thing is your attitude. If your arrogant to the police they are going to be a prick back to you and make it difficult. If your cool and polite you should be fine just as long as you have nothing illegal.

I was pulled up on the highway near airlie beach the other week for a standard rbt and licence check, the cop was very nice we chatted a bit about the V35's as they are very rare this far north. Also his brother or something owns one. He actually mentioned that he knows this forum and that he said i have a very clean car for my green P's and to take it easy.

Go ahead and buy your Skyline, it was the best decision i've ever made!

driving my r34 back from the sunny coast on a Sunday is was about 11pm was about 20ks away from the gateway was driving in the fair right hand lane . Went past a exit seen a marked cop car parked got about 2ks away from him looked in the review seen no cars still thought to myself better hop in the left lane as there are no cars on the road. About 5mins after doing that i see these set of lights flying up from behind me just looked like a normal car flying . It went past me doing around 160ks it was the cop that was parked he didn’t have his red or blues on went right by in the right hand lane until he went out of view . about 2-3 ks latter i see him again ! parked to the side went past him again driving like a grandma the whole time. Again he disappeared out on my review about 2 mins latter aging Wosh ! past me again doing the same speed with no red or blues on . At this point i was thinking he is not in a rush to get any were he is just playing games with me i don’t think this is legal of him to do this but any ways he disappeared again . I got to the gate way seen him yet again parked in the middle with his red and blues on looked to be waiting for me ? just as i got over the bridge i took the 1st exit to my surprise i seen him flying over it but the sucker missed the exit i took by about 10 meters because he was going to fast . i guess lucky me my car does look tidy is a bit loud but over all never been pulled up yet ,

    • It would be different if the sealant hadn't started to peel up with gaps in the glue about ~6cm and bigger in some areas. I would much prefer not having to do the work take them off the car . However, the filler the owner put in the roof rack mount cavities has shrunk and begun to crack on the rail delete panels. I cant trust that to hold off moisture ingress especially where I live. Not only that but I have faded paint on as well as on either side of these panels, so they would need to come off to give the roofline a proper respray. My goal is to get in there and put a healthy amount of epoxy instead of panel filler/bog and potentially skin with carbon fiber. I have 2 spare rolls from an old motorcycle fairing project from a few years back and I think it'd be a nice touch on a black stag.  I've seen some threads where people replace their roof rack delete with a welded in sheet metal part. But has anyone re-worked the roof rails themselves? It seems like there is a lot of volume there to add in some threads and maybe a keyway for a quick(er) release roof rack system. Not afraid to mill something out if I have to. It would be cool to have a cross bar only setup. That way I can keep the sleek roofline that would accept a couple bolts to gain back that extra utility  3D print some snazzy covers to hide the threaded section to be thorough and keep things covered when not using the rack.
    • Probably not. A workshop grade scantool is my go to for proper Consult interrogation. Any workshop grade tool should do it. Just go to a workshop.
    • In my head it does make sense to be a fuel problem since that is what I touched when cleaning the system. When I was testing with the fuel pressure gauge, the pressure was constantly 2.5 bar with the FPR vacuum removed. When stalling, the pressure was going up to 3.0 bar (which is how it should be on ignition).
    • ECUtalk pages don't mention they support the ABS computer (consult port has more than one CAN), so you might just need a different scan tool. But, I would expect ABS is a different light to the brake warning/handbrake light, do you see an ABS light come on for a few seconds when you turn the key from ACC to IGN? But since you said: I'd have a look at the ABS sensors in the rear hubs to make sure they are not damaged, disconnected etc.
    • OK, if it idles at 1000+ with the AAC, its not an idle airflow problem. The cold start valve just gives extra air when the engine is cold, but you have enough air without it to idle at 1000. I think you are back to a fuel problem, sorry. Can you see the fuel pressure staying constant or does it drop as the revs drop to a stall?
