G`day all, im looking at getting my first skyline i want an R33 preferably black, silver or worst case white, it has to be manual + Turbo minimal mods, exhaust , no boosted or molested pieces of junk.

im 38 years old and have had enough of crap cars, and i am sick of finding cars with damaged rails i found one on carsales

http://www.carsales.com.au/all-cars/private/details.aspx?__Ns=pCar_RankSort_Int32|1||pCar_PriceSort_Decimal|1||pCar_Make_String|0||pCar_Model_String|0&__Nne=15&__Qpb=1&vertical=car&Cr=5&R=11207951&eapi=2&silo=stock&__N=1216%201246%201247%201252%201282%204294963846%204294963593%204294933106%20903%201622&seot=1&__Nf=||p_PriceRange_Range|BTWN%200%2010100&Range=Price:Min,10000~1|Mileage:Min,Max|Year:Min,Max|Seats:Min,Max|EngineSize:Min,Max&__No=15&trecs=30&__sid=133488CCE0D2

i went and looked at the car, i was i little under the weather and forgot to look under neath the car. but the inspector from state road found damaged rails,

he originally wanted $9000 but after finding the damage he agreed to fix the chassis and drop the price to $7500.

please can someone have a look at the pics and tell me if it worth getting or not. any help would be greatly appreciated

At that money, definitely not... Evidently been hit hard at some point...

Also, its a series 1 with a series 1.5 front bar... could be nothing, could be something.

This looks better... Stock standard ready for your own touches..

PS, thise headlights would come up a treat with a clean / sand (look in the tutorial section)

Thanks 10 4 i have browsed past that one a few times, i sent him an email last night, and spoke to him on the phone just now,

i am going to view the car tomorrow at 7pm, we only have the one car at the moment so i have to wait for the Mrs to get home from work.. i asked the owner about chassis, as far as he knows

the rails are ok but he to is now curious to see if they ARE, he is going to check them out now and get back to me, the seller of the car in the first pictures said every thing on the car except front struts and small tear in front seat did not pass he said nothing was mentioned about chassis so people watch out for this one as i think its being sold AS iS http://www.carsales.com.au/all-cars/private/details.aspx?__Ns=pCar_RankSort_Int32|1||pCar_PriceSort_Decimal|1||pCar_Make_String|0||pCar_Model_String|0&__Nne=15&__Qpb=1&vertical=car&Cr=8&R=11207951&eapi=2&__N=1216%201246%201247%201252%201282%204294963846%204294963593%204294933106%20903%201622&silo=stock&seot=1&__Nf=p_PriceRange_Range|BTWN%200%2010100&Range=Price:Min,10000~1|Mileage:Min,Max|Seats:Min,Max|EngineSize:Min,Max&__No=0&trecs=30&__sid=133488CCE0D2

hopefully the 96 is good

Sounds like someone who doesn't know much about their car...

Just have a good look-over it mate.

FWIW, S2 > S1 in every imaginable way thumbsup.gif

The 96 R33 is sold pending mechanical inspection,

holding deposit down settled on $8800 with RWC

inspection will most likely be done on Friday,

and should have the car early next week

there is a small dent in left rail and slight on right but they are very small

nothing to worry about i think. all in all the car looks nice and clean.

and has NO MODS, it does have a turbo timer

Alot of imports have dings in there rails from fork lifts moving them around in J.

Better of getting a car with few good mods, for 8k now days you should be able to get a sweet 33, a turbo timer is useless and a defect in NSW.

R34 GTT rims are win.

the R34 rims are on the 93 and its chassis is bad, structural damage from at least 2 major accidents

the 96 is stock as far as i can tell, but i`m no expert,

its the best one i have seen so far and i have looked at plenty

as long as it passes mechanical inspection i will be getting it.

    • @GTSBoy This method was able to get readings of -10 to -2, so it looks like its monitoring.  Now I need to figure out why the vacuum on the line provided isn't alternating with manifold pressure.  I went with 2 lines that an RB25 tuner recommended but I'll get a longer hose and try directly off the back of the manifold.  He may have been used to OEM intake setups while I have a DBW setup that removed the MAF and IACV.
    • I work at a car detailing and tinting shop called Quark which gets all manner of German cars in usually (mainly due to a contract with Mercedes Benz Kita Osaka, BMW Nishinomiya and others) but every once in a while something special comes in, like a fully restored 1972 HS30 Nissan Fairlady 240ZG... The shop owner had immediately started applying film to the windows as soon as it was in the shop so the interior was completely covered in towels and plastic sheets. But I could get a few photos of the engine bay which was restored like new. Such an amazing car to see in pristine condition in Japan these days.
    • Was going to say the car pulls up nicely everywhere, especially going into that last long right hander before the main straight. Looks like a lot of fun.
    • Hey Dave, welcome aboard! Good to see another soon-to-be Stagea owner here. The wagons are awesome — plenty of space, still got that Skyline DNA, and loads of potential if you’re into mods. Definitely post up pics when you get it, everyone here loves seeing new builds. What model/year are you looking at?
