BUMP i

m after $6500 cash or swap but needs to be road worthy and registered

dont have cash to put on top as i paid $45000 for my wedding that im having in a couple of months so cash would help me or a just a daily with cash on top

a blue slip is a road worthy ye? honestly depends some places can say its fine some dont some can pick on things and some wont etc

i have some standard parts if needed exhaust etc

but i wont ship the car outer state dont have the time to just being honest with ya mate

just so everyone knows

i had one guy come and see the car today and was picking on stuff like dints and scratches he bought a R32 for $3500 that kicked out in second gear and wanted to drive my car to see if it does it like wtf the car is old u cant avoid dints for so many years and u expect me to let you drive my car and just thrash it if you hit a pole or blow something up then what lol dont think so

uhh blue slip is like when your car has been off the road unregistered, its a full on check over the car and they can deny you on anything.

well the reg expired on the 3rd of this month not long ago so the car isnt completely unregistered has to be 3 months from the expiry date before the car is completely off the road if that helps lol but no theres nothing wrong with the car tyres are road worthy no leaks nothing like i said just depends on where you get your car checked at they can pick on anything or nothing or a little

    • They are under bucket shims. Tomei provides a test shim kit and then any measurement of shim required. 
    • I always wondered how you were supposed to buy a set of 24 buckets and somehow magically have every single one of them yield exactly the desired clearance. I would have thought you'd need to assemble a cam with either 12 "sample" or "example" buckets of known top thickness (or a single such sample/example 12 times over!!) measure clearances at every valve, and then do the usual math to work out what the actual "shimness" of each bucket needed to be, before buying the required buckets to make up he thicknesses that you didn't have on hand.
    • I now seem to be limited in power due to my rev limit/hydraulic lifters in my built RB25. I'm looking into converting over to Tomei solid lifters. Question for anyone that has done the conversion. I was always under the impression that when using the Tomei solid lifter conversion, you would also require new valves (Longer or shorter stems, I can't remember which).  I don't know where I got this idea, as so far I see no mention of this in any of the Tomei documentation. It just states I need the Tomei solid buckets, solid lifter cams and upgraded springs. As my head is already built, all I would need is another set of 1000$ Kelford cams, 500$ buckets and about 4H hours of my time installing and I'm off to the races!?!? There's no way it's that simple, I must be missing something? 
    • I couldn't agree more. I should have started from the get-go with a NEO or solid bucket conversion. I started looking into converting over to solid lifters yesterday.
