Wiring A 5" Rev Tacho

before i start this isnt for my skyline its for my daily as i got it for free so might aswell throw it in lol

ok i got a calibre 5" tacho and im trying to wire it up. ive got power from my ciggi lighter and multimetered it out and 100% i have my earth my power and my lights. and tapped into the dashboard for rev

the light on tacho works when cars off then i go to turn the car on and light stops working. tachos not working. but when i test cables its showing 12 volts so im not sure whats going on

anyone dealt with this before?

Know jack shit bout electricals but doesn't the lighter need to be earthed hence pushed in to form the circuit?? Press the ciggie lighter in and see if ya tacho springs to life haha

but then it shouldnt because at the tacho it shows 12 volts for power and 12 volts for lights

When using the multi did you use the ground off the tacho to test? If you didnt could be dodgy ground.

i buzzed out the ground and makes a cicuit. il try again today going straight off the battery see if its any different
