afew nights ago i had a young ethnic guy in an R33 GTR with trade plates, rub the front of my R34 GTR on the passenger side while i was sitting at the lights. No real damage to my car apart from the head**** of plastic welding and re-spraying my bumper but still that isn't free!

"NOT HAPPY JAN!!!"

The guy went up between two lanes of traffic to get away from me on North East Rd just past Holden Hill copshop heading toward the direction of TTP. I checked the traders but must of got a letter wrong or something. I know he knocked off his front indicator cover (found it back at the lights) and scraped abit of his paint off because it was stuck to my bumper.

Leaving a collision be it a rub or a major smack is still illegal. If anyone sees the car around or knows the bloke and can give me enough info to get him for damages there is $250 bucks in it for you!

Really appreciate a helping hand on this guys!

You are no longer to required to stop at the scene of an accident unless someone is injured, so if you believe all the occupants are ok you may leave and just report the accident to police within 24hours. This is too protect people from violent road rage attacks.

so you have to pay for the damage?!? **** THAT  Doesn't sound right to me.

No, both parties are required to report the accident to police within 24hrs. The police will then provided each driver with the details of the other driver after they have investigated it. I know this because about 6 months ago a driver of a ford laser took offence to my driving on anzac highway and decided to run into the back of my GTR and refused to stop afterwards. I rang the police and they informed me to go to the nearest police station and report the accident. A couple days later a police officer rang after visiting the other drivers residents to provide me with his name, address, etc for insurance purposes. The police officer also informed me that the other driver had made a statement about me drag racing on anzac highway. I stated that it couldnt have been much of a drag race if his normal aspirated ford laser caught and ran into the back of my twin turbo 4wd GTR, i think he is full of shit.

Good come back is true but come on people need to find this little shit!

JEEEEEEZZZZZE mate (COPY ME) your car cant be that quick if a R33 R got away from ya surely for 135g it would fly or something atleast have some go go gadget arms.If anyone hit me i wouldnt give up till i ran them down im sure alot of people would do the same. Also comments about not stopping after a prang or even a slight knock how do you know if someone is injured or not plus the decent thing to do is stophow would you like it if someone did that to you.remind me not to go cruzn with you..........

Remind me not to invite you.....

If you organised a cruze where people thought it was ok to bail after an accident then you wouldnt need to invite me im sure it would be a pretty lonely cruz anyhow.i think your missing the point but if you enjoy putting in your 2 cents worth then thats fine

If you bothered reading my original post you would have read that the guy went up the middle of two lanes, with cars in them, to get away from me! If i didn't sideswip a car following the shit! then i would have hit my sump extension and ****ed up my bottom end, which would have just added to the damage! When you get a car that your parents hav'nt bought for you and you have to actually work for it! You will know what iam talking about.

    • @Haggerty this is your red flag. In MAP based ECU's the Manifold pressure X RPM calculation is how the engine knows it is actually...running/going through ANY load. You are confusing the term 'base map' with your base VE/Fuel table. When most people say 'base map' they mean the stock entire tune shipped with the ECU, hopefully aimed at a specific car/setup to use as a base for beginning to tune your specific car. Haltech has a lot of documentation (or at least they used to, I expect it to be better now). Read it voraciously.
    • I saw you mention this earlier and it raised a red flag, but I couldn't believe it was real. Yes, the vacuum signal should vary. It is the one and only load signal from the engine to the ECU, and it MUST vary. It is either not connected or is badly f**ked up in some way.
    • @Haggerty you still haven't answered my question.  Many things you are saying do not make sense for someone who can tune, yet I would not expect someone who cannot tune to be playing with the things in the ECU that you are.  This process would be a lot quicker to figure out if we can remove user error from the equation.
    • If as it's stalling, the fuel pressure rises, it's saying there's less vacuum in the intake manifold. This is pretty typical of an engine that is slowing down.   While typically is agree it sounds fuel related, it really sounds fuel/air mixture related. Since the whole system has been refurbished, including injectors, pump, etc, it's likely we've altered how well the system is delivering fuel. If someone before you has messed with the IACV because it needed fiddling with as the fuel system was dieing out, we need to readjust it back. Getting things back to factory spec everywhere, is what's going to help the entire system. So if it idles at 400rpm with no IACV, that needs raising. Getting factory air flow back to normal will help us get everything back in spec, and likely help chase down any other issues. Back on IACV, if the base idle (no IACV plugged in) is too far out, it's a lot harder for the ECU to control idle. The IACV duty cycle causes non linear variations in reality. When I've tuned the idle valves in the past, you need to keep it in a relatively narrow window on aftermarket ecus to stop them doing wild dances. It also means if your base idle is too low, the valve needs to open too much, and then the smallest % change ends up being a huge variation.
    • I guess one thing that might be wrong is the manifold pressure.  It is a constant -5.9 and never moves even under 100% throttle and load.  I would expect it to atleast go to 0 correct?  It's doing this with the OEM MAP as well as the ECU vacuum sensor. When trying to tune the base map under load the crosshairs only climb vertically with RPM, but always in the -5.9 column.
