Must have just been bad luck mate.

The R35 owners i've spoken to on this forum have been approachable and more than helpful.

Yeah the ones on the forum are REALLY good great guys.

The two on sale on carsales at the moment the cheaper black one, the chick who claims its her car after agreeing on a price she then calls me back wanting CASH only. ARE YOU SERIOUS !!!!!! who gives 103K in cash.

Then the other doosh bag that had it priced at 115K said I can have the car for 110K, a little over budget but for the mods it had I went for it called him back and he denied even saying I could have the car for 110K - IT gets BETTER then has the balls to raise the price to 119,995K after I spoke to him.

So my next choice of colour is the dark silver hopefully I’ll have better luck and have a car end of week.

Used 2009's should be priced around the 105-110k mark. I'd take nothing more that that - as well as a copy of the black box print out to see how its been treated.

If the owners are changing the price, they've probably underestimated how much they still owe, and realised that they need more $$ to cover the loan payout + fees.

IMO black is a biatch to keep swirl free too.. Super Silver, Titanium or Gun metal are way better options

Loving this whole black box thing.

What is the correct process for a potential buyer to get his / her hands on the info?

Do most performance car workshops have access to the tools required to pull the data? Or is it only Nissan that have access to the tools (at the moment).

Correct me if I am wrong but the "Black Box" does not hold data indefinately it is only over a short period of time. Please correct me if I am wrong but everytime they show me the graphs they only go back a month or so.

I understand that the BB stores everything from 0kms, and this data is downloaded by Nissan at every service - and used against you when you have a warranty claim.

VEHICLE STATUS DATA RECORDER (VSDR)

The Nissan GT-R is equipped with a Vehicle Status Data Recorder (VSDR). The VSDR is designed to record (i) vehicle operating and performance information (such as gear position); (ii) engine control information (such as engine speed and boost pressure); and (iii) component replacement and/or re-programming history.

NISSAN, NISSAN affiliates and NISSAN High Performance Centre (NHPC) may access and use the data recorded by the VSDR to (i) evaluate warranty claims; and (ii) carry out statistical analysis and ongoing research and development of the GTR-R.

The VSDR does not record conversations, other sounds, images or location based data [handy - given that ALL cars, including non-SatNav UK cars, have a GPS sensor in them!]. No personal data are recorded by the VSDR. However, the information recorded on the VSDR may be combined with your personal information by NISSAN (and/or NISSAN Higher Performance Centre (NHPC)) for the above purposes.

NISSAN will not share the VSDR data (without your agreement) with any third parties other than NISSAN affiliates and NISSAN Higher Performance Centre (NHPC) except as required by law of any enforcement authority or in an anonymised form for statistical analysis and research. The data on the VSDR are encrypted so that the information is secure and can only be accessed by people with the relevant technology to read the data.

You should not tamper with or disable the VSDR (or engine or permit anyone else to do so). You acknowledge that any warranty claim will be subject to NISSAN or NISSAN Higher Performance Centre (NHPC) obtaining access to the data on the VSDR and that tampering with or disabling the VSDR may invalidate the manufacturer's warranty. Your statutory rights will not be affected. You should have the VSDR inspected if the vehicle has been involved in an accident, flooding, or other event which might have damaged the VSDR.

Mind you, I could be wrong - Someone on this thread says up to 40 hrs only, but only the boffins @ Nissan in Japan would be able to give you a definitive answer on this one.

yep reads and stores everything from 0kms

apparently i removed my TCM module at 738kms and the car didnt move while disconnected - it is printed on every service receipt

i have no f'ing idea what they are on about - i did however disconnect my tail light harness at 738kms and couldn't drive my car while sitting in the boot installing dynamat and my 4 tail light bypass kit

I spoke to the guy who was selling the R35 for $115k as well, when i asked him to arrange documents confirming that the car not tracked, or launched he said he wasnt interested in selling to people like me.

WTF?!

Im sticking around for a black one as well.

You can definitely do a hell of a lot better then that black one on carsales! Way over priced, too many KLM's, absolutely no warranty with the mods, probably been thrashed on the track with no tranny cooler and standard OEM fluid and to top it off the guy sounds like a real tosser!

Not sure why you'd sell just because you got married - if my wife forced me to sell the GT-R I'd soon go pack her bags for her :pirate: lol..... Unless of course you got the car before you bought a house, in which case you might need that $$ for a deposit :whistling:

Wholy beejesus... so it is true.. pinch.gif The US boys obviously have no clue then.

All the '09's are going to run out of warranty soon anyway. So the absolutely no warranty argument becomes void for them all shortly. As for never being launched, what would be the point of having the car if you don't launch it a few times? Aussie ddelivered GTR's had a watered down launch control and the original Jap spec ones (07 & 08) with the harsh launch control were no doubt exagerated on the internet anyway. How many daily driven ADM R35's have you heard of with stuffed gearboxes? I understand the part about being tracked and gearbox temps etc and I wouidnt like to own a track pig either, but honestly if the car presents well and drives well then what is the issue.

I dont know mch avout the gearbox isses but if heard horror stories about gearboxes being destroyed from using the harsh launch controls.

The issue is the $25k repair bill if something does go wrong. Im not really clued in on this so if you anyone care to bring me up to speed about the issues with 09 launch control, that be great.

There are no issues with 09 + launch control. Any isues were seen in the 07-08 launch control and from what I understand they were over exagerated on the internet with hearsay etc. Don't you remember all the garbage that was flying around about the R35 GTR in the early days, basically none of it was true as the people spreading the garbage didn't own one or have any experience with one.

Has anyone here had any experience with a stuffed gearbox through daily driving, a few launch controls or the occasional track day? I would think someone that races the car compeditivly might feel the need to upgrade some gearbox parts but for 98% of us it is not an issue at all.

I am sure if ADM GTR guys were actually sending there cars back to Nissan with gearbox problems it would have been all over the internet years ago considering these cars are 3 years old now. Why can't we just put this gearbox issue to rest where it should have been in 2007.

ADM's dont have Harsh Launch Controls, the revs were reduced. And once again, you heard stories nothing more.

    • sold listed as a Tomei LSD 1.5 Way For 1998+ Nissan Skyline ER34 25GT RB25DE w/Open R200 https://www.ebay.com/itm/174006114594?campid=5338967980&mkevt=1&mkcid=1&toolid=10050&customid=&mkrid=711-53200-19255-0&loc_physical_ms=108689&loc_interest_ms=&campid=5338967980&mkevt=1&mkcid=1&toolid=10050&customid=71883f2ccc571356e0a757bc7adfdde2&mkrid=710-53481-19255-0&loc_physical_ms=108689&loc_interest_ms= it went in like butter all gears, alignment, back lash etc, rotation and clearances correct, and if rolling all rotates smooth and free when coasting down road , clutch in or out over 10 mph smooth... its the binding, clunking and jerking from a stop that is most concerning, also seems like its going to tear the tires off in 10 miles of normal road driving.
    • What 1.5 way? There's no such thing really as a 1.5 way, just different ways of explaining 2 ways with different ramp rates. HOWEVER. In any driving in a straight line your 1.5 or 2 or 1.7 way should have no clunking at all. With the clutch fully depressed the diff should be silent (unless it's welded but I'm assuming it's not). Something aint right here.
    • Clutch is a spec brand, new clutch system,( PP, flywheel, friction disc, etc. pull type) installed 100 miles ago, with no problems.
    • looking for some help and maybe some insight on others experience with a new LSD. R34 GT ran and drove beautifully, but always alot of grip loss due to the open R200 rear end, so I just installed a new 1.5 LSD way into the stock open R200 for a ER34. Simple. Everything seemed right. I test drove for the first time this weekend. as I started to back out the garage the first time slowly with tires straight it sounded and felt like I had a loose or half disconnected drive shaft...that was clucking around loose and shaking entire vehicle, and making it feel like the trans clutch was spontaneously slipping then grabbing very roughly while just letting out pedal slowly. I backed it out went to pull forward with the same noise, shake and slip grab feeling with hesitation, I turned the tires to back out more and then pulled ahead some same thing but worst because of added wheel resistance (which that I expected) puzzled … pulling it back in checking everything over and finding nothing wrong, I tried it the next day. same thing, couldn’t believe how it shook everything again making a terrible noise and making it feel like the trans clutch was slipping and grabbing, but I got it out of garage into the driveway, got it straight, drove forward and then reveres a few times in a straight line everything shaking , causing what felt like clutch slip and grab every time, sounded like right behind front driver tire and I could feel it in the floor board with my feet,... worst right when beginning to let clutch pedal out to engage slightly, shuttering and sounding terrible along the way…I managed to slowly get down the road, babying it the whole way, once I was rolling (out of 1st) seemed to be better and between shifts, then clutch felt closer to normal…not slip/ grab etc., but back down to any stop, straight road or turning, same thing. Made no difference if all tires were straight or if I was turning. All other gauge read out correct. with in 2 miles as planned I reached the empty parking lot and performed the break in procedure that came with lsd, essentially to drive in a figure 8 a bunch.  Did this, binding chattering, and shaking the car the whole way. I drove it back home seemed somewhat normal once I was in straight line and past 10 mph or so, and I know it will “bind” on corners and cause some tires squeal when turning especially from a stop, but when I begin to move it still causes what feels like the trans clutch to slip and jerk badly as well as shaking the entire car, and sounds terrible, that I didn’t expect. I used the fluid they supplied with LSD kit and did the breaking, planning to change fluid as they suggest after breaking, but wondering will it get smoother or less aggressive with use? maybe a 1.5 is just too aggressive for normal road driving?   I have a LSD that I put in my 71 cuda when I restored it, with amazing smooth , quite yet effective results. Different style LSD but that ones a joy to drive. maybe expecting too much from this R200?
