Automatic Antenna

I have just installed a JVC KD-G505 cd player into my series 2 R33 GTS-t. In my car i have a swicth for the antenna, up or down which worked fine for the old cd player that was in.

Now whenever the Head unit is on the antenna is always up, Wether i am listening to CD or Radio. When i flick the switch on the dash the antenna only goes half way down and then stops. When i then turn the car off it goes down all the way.

On my preivious Skyline with a JVC Head Unit the antenna went down if i was not listening to the radio. But the current one won't go fully down at all?

Can anyone help me out as although it is only a minor issue it shits me to tears and is driving me crazy!

mine does the same one series 1, i dont have the up / down switch however whenever the head unit is on then the antenna goes up. i think alot of skylines are like this. not sure how to fix it tho

Its your headunit that controls it.

Your headunit isn't telling it to go down(removing the power from the line) when you put on a CD... generally crap cd players do this

the crap pioneer cd player i had with my car when i got it did that - kept the antena up even when listening to CD's... i replaced it with a good clarion one and it now goes down when playing CD's..

yeah i agree i had pioneer deh in my old vl and the aeriel was up all the time

now ive got a alpine head unit in my 33 and its only up when radio is on

Yeah, the thing is on my old skyline with a shittier JVC head unit it work but just wont play the game with the new one...

Had a play around tonight and it has got me completely baffled!

Tried to bypass the switch, then tried to bypass the HU and make it a manual antenna. Nothing worked. This is really starting to shit me.

Surely someone out there has this HU in their car!
