Have you ever been to Perth? If not I would be happy to show you around the weekend you show up, take a cruise in my gtt :)

*snip*

all the regulars on here are good people to have a laugh with so come to a few of our cruises!

Hope I hope you enjoy Perth.

I wouldn't worrie too much about the modifications, just be more cautious of the driving infringments and the hoon laws!

If your interested in a GTR let me know. I have my 1993 R32 GTR VSpec for sale. Its immaculate and unmodified, therefore reliable!

I am really looking to go with an R34 but out of curiosity, if you dont mind me asking, how much is it going for?

Definitely, how often do you guys meet?

I saw imports101 has a Bayside Blue GTR for sale for $54k... One can dream for now. Would much rather get the GTR than the GTT (no offense), I just have always loved the GTR version. I can pay cash for the GTT but would have to finance the GTR, which I am assuming you cant do if Auss is anything like the US. In the US, it is almost impossible to finance anything 7 years old, or older. $54k is a lot to drop on a car cash, if you ask me... but thats just me.

That bayside blue GTR is mint though. Then engine (don't quote me) is around 500hp, but reliable enough to be a daily. Finance is easy to get. Just show a bank some cash, a job, and they'll give you anything. I saved 5 grand when I was 17, and they said I could borrow up to 22. If I could afford a GTR I would as well... But yeah 54k is a whole lot to be spending on a 10 year old car.

Had an R34 GTT, 300ZX, R32 GTR and R34 GTR, none of which were stock. Still yet to be yellowed :) Been pulled over a few times for random breath tests though. Be polite, drive sensibly and treat the officers as people and you'll be fine.

No shit, that is why your 8 year older car goes for 5 grand more then mine still! I want a GTR, but I am happy with east bear kit ;)

I have to agree. The east bear kit does look great on the car but does seem a little costly. Do you have that on your car? How much did it cost with painting and install (if you dont mind my asking)? either way it is still a hell of a lot cheaper than R34 GTR. I love the look and power of GTR (who doesn't) but I would gladly just take the look on a modified GTT.

Thanks. How did owning the R34 GTT vs GTR feel? What did you do to the GTT?

No I will be getting the bomex kit on my car, in the near future. Should be fitting it this weekend, then all I have to do is paint and refit. I bought the kit for $500 (very cheap, but decent quality) from a private seller. There is a place called 'TheSpoilerShop' here that fits and paints kits. They quoted me around $3000 for a full kit bought painted and fitted. Or around $1600 to just paint and fit. Expensive, I would rather do it myself.

you shouldn't be able too because they dont meet adr's, well most. i think there was one brand a few years ago advertising that their's did.

Happy to be proven wrong.

Yeah, they change the crumple zone of the car, pretty sure they don't meet Australian standards, but keen to see if it you can get one.

Two completely different cars. GTT had ECU, boost controller and supporting mods running 14PSI and around 260RWHP. The R32 and R34 GTR felt quite different from each other as well.

As far as loans go, you won't be able to get a secured car loan for a car that old. Your only options would be to take out an unsecured personal loan or redraw on your mortgage if you have one.

BLITS has ADR approval on FIBREGLASS bonnets, i know its not CF but it might be the best you can run on a street car

    • Thanks everyone for the replies and suggestions. Got the seats out (hoping I could find some existing grommets but no such luck). By tapping and measuring etc. I could figure out where I could drill through if needed. But first I borrowed an inspection camera and managed to go through factory holes in the chassis rail and could see that the captive nut was holding steady which is why it could retighten. So it was indeed a stripped section of thread, so I applied downforce by levering the bolt head with a screwdriver and went slowly back and forth until it came out. Camera helped a lot cos I could monitor that the captive nut was holding tight. Now I just have one very seized main subframe nut to tackle 😅
    • BOVs do have a purpose, if you ever log pressure before and after the throttle body, you will see a spike pre throttle on lift off from a WOT condition. Enough to bend throttle blades / damage e-throttle motors or simple assist in blowing off cooler pipes. FWIW, the above on really applies to those running at least 2 bar of boost. OP shouldn't have an issue, on the other hand, here are some videos of my shit box over a decade ago with some succulent dose with the airbox on and off. That shit box is unrecognisable these days 🫠
    • I've tried all different combinations of BOVs/ no BOV and stock bypass valves over the years, on gear changes the stock bypass valve seems to get the car back on boost quicker because in part the turbos wheel speed isn't being slowed down by reversion, although they have issues holding boost much over the stock setting. Most aftermarket BOVs you can adjust the spring, tighter will make it open later and close sooner, but in my experience it'll cause a bit of flutter at low load/rpm anyway. I've also got some input into this whole no bov causing turbo wear, never had an issue on any on my turbos HOWEVER, I got my R33 GTST with 200k kms on it, with from what I can see still has the original turbo, no lateral shaft play but has about 4-5mm of play in and out which to me seems like a worn thrust bearing from years (100-150k kms?) of turbo flutter running no bov, so maybe there is some truth to it in the long run. But that'll never stop me loving the Stutututu while I have the car.   OP just wants to know if he can run a atmo vented BOV with no major issues and the answer is YES, plenty of people do it, there's no harm in installing it and seeing how it runs before spending $$$ on an aftermarket ecu, last time I bought a Nistune it was $2400 for install and a tune , unsure of todays prices but you get me. Crazy money to spend just to fix the minor inconvenience of stalling that can be overcome by letting the revs come down to near idle before putting the clutch in or a little bit of throttle to avoid it. You're better off leaving the ecu and tune for after a bigger turbo/injectors have been installed to take full advantage of the tune and get your moneys worth.   Let OP have his Whoosh sound without trying to break his bank haha
    • I see you missed the rest of the conversation where they have benefits, but nothing to do with avoiding breaking turbos, which is what the aftermarket BOV made all the fan boys, tuners, and modders believe was the only purpose for them...
    • But they do so for the other reasons to have a compressor bypass. It's in the name.
