Tough luck mate.

Just because your driveway goes thru the footpath, doesn't mean you own that part. The council still owns it and manages it as public space, and your driveway extension is only a privilege given to you so you can access your house. If you park blocking the footpath, then the council can give you a parking ticket. :) I read somewhere, this has happened quite often to those who are unaware of this...

My extension from the road is quite long. I can fit my car on it without blocking the footpath. Question can I be fined for parking on the extension? IE: Same as parking it on the lawn between my house and the road...but its concrete :)

Anywhere past your fence is public property managed by the council. So yes, you can be booked. Parking on the lawn between ur house and the road (the green area) may also incur a fine as you're not suppose to do that. You'll destroy the grass and may hinder council worker if they come to cut the grass.

Well mate, you're not alone, I'm sure there are lots of other people got caught in that situation as well. You can try appeal for the ticket, do it nicely and sometime they'll let you off in the first offence but don't take my word for it 100%.

Good luck.

yeah i got done for parkin in the grass ... i'm like wtf ... who do these council ****s think they are?? we're not a growing money tree here ... some of us work for a whole ****ing night to make 45 bucks and they think its their right to take money from us ... bloody bunch of ****s ... get a real ****ing job ...

I got done in Vic for that. Measured it at 20 cm. All of the neighbours got warnings a couple of days before for parking on the nature strip and across the footpath so when they came back they got me, and i had no warning.

I asked the reason for a fine due to a minor obstruction and was told that someone could ride a bike into the car...than i mentioned that riding on the footpath is illegal. I got gurgling sounds as the fool on the other end of the phone tried to justify it. Then asked about the warnings and why a letter drop was not done as others had the priveledge...............the fine was dropped.

Filthy victorian banana governments. All addicted to money from fines.

A friend on the St Kilda council told how the southbank precinct got transferred to melbourne council, losing them 6 mill in rates and other income. So they are aggressively fining parking motorists and recovering at least 4 mill a year, as well as charging more for their parking where a street away you can park for half ($3) on the street for the day.

That has happened to me when i was living in Norwood. Write a letter to your council explaining the situation and usually they will let you off once or twice.

That sucks. Hope you get off dude.

I live on a blind corner with double yellow lines in the middle of the road. Every man and his dog parks his car there to catch the train. Try backing out the drive way with these Fark-tards illegally parking across from a double yellow blocking the view of the traffic. The council need to throw a couple of tickets this way if they going to pin you for parking in your own drive way. I think they have their priorities all A55 about face. :shake:

    • Hi...so a "development" here aswell The swap is "done" and car went "test drive" BUT it seems the clutch(maybe gearbox?) is a little bit sad? I bought this clutch kit https://justjap.com/products/xtreme-heavy-duty-organic-clutch-flywheel-kit-nissan-skyline-r31-r32-r33-push-type "Problem" is that the first gear is hard to put into and it seems that the clutch is not disengaged. It was not the problem with the old clutch...(or like sometime the first gear would not get as easy specialy when the fluid was cold) So? Can it be like...bad "install" or is the clutch wrong ((it should not have been) i done research to get the right one) Or is this "normal" with new clutch and needs to be break in?
    • @Duncan I can try  and thanks i did not thought about VIN and part numbers for 33/34. @GTSBoy yeah it looks like iam gonna do that
    • Forgot to include this but this is the mid section of my steering rack that looks like it has a thread/can be turned with that notch mentioned in the post:
    • Hey everyone, Wanted to pick some brains about this issue I'm having with rebuilding my 33 rack (PN is 49001-19U05). All of the tutorials/videos I've seen online are either R34 or S Chassis racks which seem to be pretty straightforward to disassemble but this process doesnt carry over to my rack. Few of the key differences that I've noted The pinion shaft on the other racks bolt on with 3 torx bolts: Whereas my rack bolts on with 2 allen head bolts: These changes are pretty inconsequential but the main difference is how you pull the actual rack out of the housing. The other skyline/s chassis racks can be taken out by tapping the rack out of the body with a socket and it just slides right out. I'm unable to do that with my rack because there's a hard stop at the end that doesn't let the seal/shaft be tapped out. Can also see a difference in the other end of the rack where mine has a notch that looks like you're able to use a big wrench to unthread 2 halves of the rack whereas the other racks are just kinda set in with a punch. My rack: Other racks: TLDR; Wanted to know if anyone has rebuilt this specific model of steering rack for the R33 and if there were any steps to getting it done easier or if I should just give this to a professional to get done. Sorry if this post is a bit messy, first one I've done.
    • I would just put EBC back on the "I would not use their stuff" pile and move on.
