Hi,

so long story short, Rb26 into R33gtst, using Apexi power FC, sent the wiring for the Rb25 loom to be mashed with the Rb26 loom to a guy. When the ignition is off, key is out and battery is connected the ECCS relay keeps clicking over and over every 2-3 seconds. A standard computer did the same thing.

1. What is the ECCS Relay and what does it do?

2. Anyone had this happen?

3. I know its a wiring issue and could be anything but where would you start looking if it was you?

Thank you :)

sorry I am not sure about why you are having a problem, but the ECCS relay is a critical component in the ECU wiring.

basically, it switches the ecu on or off by removing the main ecu earth. there is permanent earth to the circuit that controls it, if the power is turned off the ECCS relay keeps the ECU earth on until settings are saved, and then it turns off.

    • I'd ask the shop what they used and use that. Mixing coolants is sometimes OK, sometimes not, and you have know the details of each coolant to know whether it's a good idea or not.
    • Is it alright to top up with just another green coolant?

Thanks for the advice on the box... i like a 6 speed so might be on the lookout or the box now.. a topic of discussion for another post...
    • Will have a look at that. I cant see any leaks
    • Put another overflow bottle (ie, a 1.25 coke bottle or similar) under the overflow hose and see if it is being pushed out there or if it is disappearing into the engine.
